With that, I want to let you know that we just released the bracket for the European tournament which can be found here: http://binarybeast.com/xGW21305130

Is there a reason TP members are being invited every time? I am sure Team Idle, Curse, Boon and many more would be happy to join the discussion.
Hey,
If people want to participate in the discussion then they can freely message us at sotg@guildwarsguru.net – they should include some information about themself and what they can bring to the show that gives us reason to invite them.
A lot of people seem to think that we are only inviting people, but if people do not show any interest then it is hard for us to “find” them. The same goes for all our other projects at Guru, we are always looking for more volunteers to help out with all sort of content, but people can’t expect us to find them when they aren’t showing interest in being found. Right? ^^
If you are an active Guild Wars 2 sPvP player there is a big chance you have heard about Guru State of the Game – and if you aren’t into sPvP there is a big chance you have been wondering why there weren’t a PvE or WvW equivalent of the show. We released an article on Guru designed to help you understand where we are coming from and hopefully motivate people to help us start all these wanted new projects.
One thing you need to know is that Guru is ran entirely of volunteers who are just exceptionally dedicated and motivated to do the things they do here. Finding volunteers who are willing and able to put in multiple hours a week to maintaining or preparing something like State of the Game is really tough.
So when people ask, can’t you just start a PvE and WvW show? Yes, we could have such a show up and running in just a few days/weeks, we got the contacts and the platform is there. But finding someone who is willing to invest the amount of volunteer hours that is required is a whole other thing.
On top of that it is not just about finding someone willing – but also finding someone who is capable, has the technical experience and equipment to run a livestream show.
If you think you are a fitting persona for the above description, then you should not hold back in contacting us. Head over to thread linked below for more information and to get in touch!

Hey Guys,
I notice a lot of the feedback is directly aimed at a need for a PvE or WvW state of the game.
If this is something that interest you then we just released an article in regards to this on guru.

Only have one specific build that works. A bit too limited, they are supposed to be a jack of all trades, but not the king of any particular play. Want to get elementals builds opened up, rearrange the traits and buff traits that aren’t being taken right now.
Strong healing spells, healing scaling has been reduced by 50% since beta, no intend to change that further. Will continue to have a lot of burst healing.
Elementalist tornado; self-ress is being fixed.
Have a lot of self-protection. Good place in bunker play, immobilizing enemies, but if he stops he is in trouble. Want something to counter that playstyle, something that increases damage based on boons the target have to give bunkers a natural enemy.
It’s time for the Guru’s State of the Game sPvP, a monthly stream focusing on the sPvP aspects of Guild Wars 2.
Who will be attending?
We’re joined by players from top competitive teams (and occasionally by a developer… or two) with the hopes of generating genuine and constructive discussion regarding the current state of the game.
This time around we’ll be joined by ArenaNet Developers Tyler Bearce and Jonathan “Chaplan” Sharp.

If you have any questions or comments regarding the show, feel free to respond to this thread or send an email at sotg@guildwarsguru.net
To be straight honest, Lowell just nailed it…
I liked it, I just wish the PvP guests (players) get more of the showcase and direct the flow of the conversation more. Also, if you can post a topic somewhere where players can post questions before and others VOTE on them, then that way we know the most important questions to the masses get asked, that would be great.
This is something we will try a lot harder for the next show to bring the participating players a bit more into the discussion.
Regarding the questions we did have a thread here on the forums where people could post what they wanted on the show and people could then +1 those that they liked. As for getting an poll to target out individual questions or “rank” the questions would be a lot of work given we had over 200 questions in the previous thread. So using the forum +1 System is a good way to indicate if it is a good question.
Hey,
A lot of you dropped by to watch the Guru State of the Game discussion just a few hours ago, and we got a lot of feedback and questions in the chat!
This thread is aimed for providing an official place where you can throw us feedback of ways to make State of the Game better, discuss the content of the last show or suggest content for the next show.
Here is a twitch VOD of the show:
http://twitch.tv/guildwars2guru/b/365009593
We will be providing a YouTube of this shortly.
Keep the feedback/questions coming!
Just dropping by to let you know that everything written here will be read and taken into consideration when we create the questions for the show. People will also be able to show up on the stream day and ask questions in chat – but it is a lot more likely for the questions to get asked if posted here prior.
We just posted some information over at GuildWars2Guru.com highlighting the upcoming sotg discussion, featuring not only one but two ArenaNet Developers!

you are twisting the truth, people did not complain that there was a list of pre set questions. I called you out that there was a list of taboo questions, that you did not want to answer. And they were all the questions that people really wanted an answer for.
It is not freedom of speech if you obligate people to NOT ask certain questions. I am also pretty sure that you knew what i ment, and that you twisted my post not in good faith.
If it turns out that you misunderstood it, i will apologize, but it just look like a low blow for now.
Pls, do not try to twist what people say, it is not elegant or just.
I am sorry to inform you that we did not have “a list of taboo questions”.
We had a list of topics that we would like to discuss that was announced with the event 2 weeks prior. This list was created together with all the participating players on the stream and it had no restrictions set to it before or after.
I can also inform you that this interview was not edited, scripted or directed beyond what you see in the actual video. This was a genuine discussion covering all the topics that we (Guru) and the players found relevant.
I sense that the players in this thread are left with a feeling that this was scripted or that we did not ask any important questions due to limitations? I can only inform you that this is NOT true and that we should really be giving ArenaNet a lot more credit for participating in this discussion practically coming of the street saying “throw us the ball and we will play it” with no limitations. Not only is this extremely rare in any game company but it is extremely motivating for the players and for us who work with management of things like this.
If you feel that there was a specific question that we did not ask that we should have then my only suggestion to you is to participate more in events like this. We asked a big part of the questions that was posted on the announcement thread and I would say we got a lot of new and important answers.
Thank you ArenaNet!

Nicely put and I agree, which is why I suggested mixing the next interview with two or three top players, and then randomly selected 2 or 3 players.
When bringing on experienced players it is most often also the most community-present players, these players care and want the best for the game. Not only is this shown by them spending multiple hours every day but it is also in their willingness to appear on shows like this.
Why bring these players?
When a new “meta” develops or when a new strong build appear it is most often due to the resources or analysis of these players. When the top-tier players comes up with new tactics, new ways to utilize abilities/traits then the general player base learns about this, through streams, videos or forum posts from mentioned players.
That is why focusing on these players is valuable as a lot of their information gets picked up and used by the less experienced players. As they start playing these new builds, they start getting more common and counter-builds are invented, forcing new builds to be made again. This is essential what ‘meta-game’ is all about.
Not to mention the discussion with in-experienced players would often be an elaboration of mechanics rather than a genuine discussion. A lot of the concerns or beliefs of the in-experienced player is often caused by lack of understanding/knowledge about certain mechanics or personal abilities/utilities.
But rest assured, we are certainly taking all this feedback in and will definitively take it up for re-evaluation whatever or not we should have less experienced players appear on this show in the future.

Hey,
First allow me to apologize for not being able to stream it tonight. We managed to get the footage recorded locally and is uploading it right now! Expect this video to be up very soon!
Note: I will update you guys with the link.
Guru’s State of the Game was founded to fill a need in the absolute top of the competitive scene. A need for a place where the most experienced players can have genuine and constructive discussion with equal and like-minded people, all in a serious environment
Where and when?
State of the Game will be a monthly stream featuring only the most competitive teams in an hour long discussion about the current state of the game. The very first event is scheduled to go live November 30th at 8 PM. GMT+1 (11 AM. PST) on the own3d.tv/gw2guru channel.
Who will be attending?
The ultimate goal will be having a steady player rotation featuring only the most competitive teams every month. We want 3-4 teams represented by 1 player at every event so we can have a varied display of experiences and views.
We have big plans for this event and want to keep it the highest possible quality not only verified by the experience of the teams that we invited but also verified by the next announcement.
I am VERY pleased to announce that for the first event we are lucky enough to not only feature the highest and most competitive players of the GW2 Scene. But we will also be joined by ArenaNet’s very own PvP Developer: Jonathan “Chaplan” Sharp.
That means the attendance list will be the following:
Interviewer - Could be you read below!
Lowell from Super Squad
Metor from eStars
Varee from Onibawan
Xeph from Team Paradign
Avalor from Chieftain Ninja
