it worked ty so much
No problem. How far is your download? Mine is ~45%.
Oh, just noticed I made a typo.
It’s >C:\LSP.txt, sorry.
And my problem has been fixed! Many thanks to James from NCsoft Technical Support for the solution.
If you experience the same problem as I do and the above resolutions didn’t help, try this:
Open up ‘Start’ and type in “cmd” and right click -> ‘Run as Administrator’.
Type in the CMD: “netsh winsock show catalog >C:\LSP.txt”, hit enter.
Then you type in “netsh winsock reset”, hit enter again.
It’ll give a warning that you must restart your computer – do so and try to install the game again.
Worked for me!

Yep, but I also tried the guildwars2.com download, neither worked and gave the same error.
Try
1.Go to your gw2 folder then right click on gw2.exe -> click create shortcut
2. At the created shortcut right click again then properties add /clientport 80 to the shortcut target line then press apply.
3. Sample – "C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe” /clientport 80
4. Run the shortcut see if it downloads. Also try turning off UAC or run the shortcut as admin.
Didn’t work, unfortunately.
Using an Ethernet cable didn’t work either.
Anyone has a solution?
Something is definitely blocking the packets to be received this may seem like a dumb question but have you tried just restarting your computer? Or installing on a different user
There are no different users, the only one is called “Admin”.
And yes, I’ve restarted and I’m pretty sure nothing blocks it; firewall is down, no antivirus installed.
Anyone else has any idea on how to solve this?
Thanks Fynthix – I did manage to locate the laptop drivers for you although it looks like you may not need them. In case you want them here’s the link for you laptop drivers below:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4063&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=5225781#N584What I am more concerned about is the way that you are connecting to the Internet. As previously mentioned this error message does not generally indicate an issue with your connection method (you would usually get the error message: “Connection Error… Retrying…”) I don’t want to dismiss it right away.
I noticed that you are connecting via Realtek RTL8188CE 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter and this could be contributing to this issue, if not THE issue here. So I want to see if you are able to bypass the Wifi connection and connect directly with an Ethernet cable. If you are able to remove the router from this equation as a troubleshooting step I would recommend to try that as well.
I’m connecting via the standard wireless connection installed on my laptop.
And I will look for an Ethernet cable, to try that.
@Shinkirou, I do not have AVG installed (de-installed it due this problem).
Edit:
I cannot find an Ethernet cable right now, I will purchase one tomorrow.
Are there any other problems which might be solved and what will fix this?

I believe it is this is a HP Pavilion G6-1310ED
Edit:
Nope, it’s an HP Pavilion g6-1335ed. I’m pretty sure (except the “ed” or “sd” part).
Edit2:
I’ve read some posts about the servers being offline (18 days ago, though), maybe that’s the problem?
(edited by Fynthix.9267)
Wait, isn’t it this:
AMD Radeon™ HD 6480G (0×9649)?
Else it might be this (I hope..):
584037-001
I’m not sure how to find it – is it on the bottom of my laptop?
Here it is.
By the way, I also tried running it in XP mode, SP3.

Unfortunately, that didn’t help either.
I really don’t get it, drivers are up to date, all unneccesary processes stopped etc.
Unfortunately, it didn’t resolve it.
What are the other possible solutions?
Done.
It should be attached.

I have a big problem with GW2.
I have purchased the game earlier today and tried to install it.
However, it kept giving me the error “Download failed! Please check your internet connection and try again!”
So, I Googled on some solutions etc., however nothing fixed it.
I deleted my AVG antivirus and shut off everything but it still doesn’t work.
Can someone please help me out here?
