Very disappointed with my Ranger… Can you guys please recommend something else?

How does this build fare since the update? I’m looking for an all-purpose GS/Staff or LB/Staff build. The Mender build posted a few threads above seemed too brittle for me…

I have the same bug.
I can see the Troll salve with its green icon above it but theres an invisible wall that prevents me to reach it. I rebooted the instance and the game 5 times and still have the same problem.

Just hit 80 with my ranger and it’s my first character on this game.
Could someone please tell me what are the next steps ingame towards building my character?

I was told I need to acquire exotic armor pieces and then work on ascended pieces.
1) Where do I get those? Which type of exotic pieces should I buy? I’d like to build a character that does well in PVE (no raids though) and occasional WvW.
2) I read a lot of build threads but none use the longbow. Is Ranger/Druid not the good class to play an archer style of gameplay at end game?
3) Anyone could recommend an all purpose build + equipement guide for an all purpose range/druid?

One last question that stays within this topic: When it comes to playing non-magical range, how to the Ranger compare with the Engineer? I understand Engineer have more DPS, no pet, so less potential survavibility in PVE and of course cannot heal as well as a Druid would. Am I correct?

Thank you all for the input. I gotta say that the bit “it’s fun but not competitive” worries me a bit for the long term. Would you recommend another class to pair up with a Rev?

Myself and a friend decided to give GW2 a try with the new expansion.
I created a bunch of classes to L10 to see the gameplay and so far I prefer the Ranger and the Warrior…but everyone and these forums strongly advices against Warrior.
I think our time will be spent in the open world, exploring and map completion, some dungeons and fractals. No PvP, some casual WvW if that exists and no raiding.

My buddy will likely play an Elementalist or a Revenant.
I like DPS classes with good survavibility…

So a few questions to the community:
- Everyone seems to play “Druid” – is that a build that I should look for considering my scope of play? It is only for raids?
- What build should I be using for leveling my ranger? GS? Axe/Horn? Bow?
- Would you actually recommend another class based on my scope of play described above?
