Well, I’m no expert, but two things immediately stand out to me:
1) You’re already a little bit “off-meta” by using a dagger instead of a sceptre, so it doesn’t sound like meeting qtfy’s damage numbers is your top priority. Those are fairly lofty goals to reach anyway.
2) This is already 90%+ the right setup. Lacking Runes of the Scholar will affect your damage, sure, but I don’t think it’ll stop you from completing the content you want to do.
To fit into these runes, I’d suggest two things (one of which you’re already doing).
1) Use “Rebound!”. Of course, you’re already doing this, but I was going to suggest it based off of its shorter cooldown enabling better use of the 6-piece bonus on the Runes of Leadership.
2) If you haven’t been doing so already, use Heat Sync sometimes. This depends on your party and how well they’re generating might, of course, but that’d be some way to actually get a bit of mileage out of the boon duration.
I don’t think that’s a relevant way to think about it … some classes don’t even get to make meaningful choices like that. Engineers are very fortunate that they have such a good number of useful traits. That’s a desired problem to have.
Ya know, that’s a fair point. Like I said, I don’t play my engineer much, so I’m not used to actually having them. This is good. I will consider this.
Sounds like you have a meaningful choice to make
Well, yes. I suppose it is an meaningful choice. It just seems like an odd one to be asked to make since plenty of other professions can easily acquire both their condition duration trait and the associated weapon trait. Warriors can get Blademaster/Furious/Heat the Soul and King of Fires. Necromancer naturally gets Barbed Precision and Lingering Curse. I suppose one can easily get Chemical Rounds and Incendiary Powder, which helps a p/p setup, but the same can’t be said for Juggernaut.
Maybe it doesn’t matter, since a PS warrior renders the might largely irrelevant. I just felt like this is something working bringing up in light of the changes.
So, I’m not an engineer main. I barely play mine, if I’m honest. However, while looking at the traits and working on building a hybrid power/condition flamethrower build, I noticed that Juggernaut and Incendiary Powder are mutually exclusive traits. This seems like an odd thing to just leave lying around with this flamethrower semi-rework. Whaddya think? Would moving one of these traits to another slot make sense/help?
That strikes me as somewhat strange, but I guess I can see the political name thing… Depending on how stringent it is, though, I’m surprised there are any names at all. :P
Ya kinda don’t have to be such a… censored expletive about it, though.
Okay… But can anyone tell me what the deal with “Shujaa” is?
Any particular reason we should sort out names for every possible language?
Because this game is played all over the world?
And we have different servers for those who would rather not see these silly Americans and their silly words. I can’t imagine it’d be difficult for them to manage these name restrictions based on where in the world the server is.
That doesn’t matter because players can freely transfer to any server, so the name restrictions have to be global.
So, on server transfer, screen names and give name changes to character’s whose names don’t conform with that server’s restrictions. ‘s completely possible to do, I’m sure.
Sheesh, you won’t let this go.
Deal with it… name restrictions are global. Use your imagination and come up with something creative in a name.
(I hope you realize that sort of comment only give me more desire to continue)
Whether or not it is a particularly big deal or something that can be worked around, the only way the topic can be considered by Anet is if they see that it is one.
And impairing creativity is why this is an issue. (Note that I’m not the Frost Bite guy.) Claiming that someone lacking creativity by wanting to use a name that is inexplicably restricted is a faulty argument at best.

As true as that might be, mulch, I’m not sure that means we should just give up. This is still rather ridiculous, and I’d rather like to be able to, at some point, actually make a character with the name that I initially wanted. This is totally something that could be, in some way, changed, so we should keep this going.

There’s a certain amount of name censoring that I can kinda understand. Specifically using explicit curses for a name would be really stupid anyway. But trying to nail down references to… Medical conditions? This doesn’t make any sense, Anet.
Yeah, their naming restrictions are wonky. I was trying to name a character “Shujaa the Lost”, but apparently “Shujaa” is bad. Thing is, “Shujaa” means things like “hero”, “courageous”, or “brave” in Swahili or Islam. And, as far as I know, it doesn’t mean anything in English, so I’m a bit confused as to why this name is being restricted.
So I was trying to make a character a week or so ago named “Shujaa the Lost” (as a reference to a story that I’ve been reading), but the game labeled it as inappropriate. I tested using just the name “Shujaa” and received the same message. Based on most everything I’ve been able to find on the word, it means things such as “hero”, “brave”, or “courageous”. There was also mention of a rugby team, but that hardly seems relevant. So, why was I not allowed to use that word for my character’s name? Any ideas/thoughts?
