I have found that my normal set up of skills doesn’t seem to affect the pirates (mainly the plunderers) as well as I wanted. I changed my skills to use traps more and frost seems to do a great job in slowing those buggers down. I also trade my bow for a frost bow whenever possible because they do an excellent job at slowing them down. And frost traps before the piles. Also the long bow ability to knock back the target seems to add a little bit of time to get the plunderer killed before he grabs the treasure.
