It seems to me dungeon tokens for exotics will be useless when Ascended Armor comes out (unless this is intended). Alternately, some of the dungeon skins are nice looking – so a way for players to upgrade existing dungeon exotics to ascended might be good (just theorycrafting).

I would love it if this was the case but knowing Anet there going to be another gear treadmill for this :-(

But I find it silly how much people have already invested in t5/6 cloth/leather. Everyone is so eager to flip them before we get ascended armor recipies. ^^

So was going over what I think the recipe might be for creating a piece of armor based on the information we have, here’s what it might / could look like.

Making an ascended boot:
Boot Lining:

x5 Crystalline dust
x50 Thermocatalytic reagent
X1 Bolt of Damask
x1 Spool of Silk Weaving Thread (Time gated)

(To make the Bolt of Damask above)
X 20 Bolt of Wool
X10 Bolt of Cotton
X20 Bolt of Linen
X1 Silk Weaving thread (Time gated)

(And to create the Silk weaving thread above which is time gated)
x50 Bolt of Silk
x1 Ecto
x10 Thermocatalytic reagent

+ Vision Crystal. (We know how to make one of those so won’t bother covering this)

So next Boot casing…..

x5 Crystalline dust
x50 thermocatalytic reagent
x2 Deldrimor steel ingot
(We know how these are all obtained so won’t go over how to get to this stage)

Now the last part is the one I need help with, the Ascended Insignia!

This it what I am thinking:

x 5 Bolts of Damask –
x 10 Dark Matter
x 10 Crystalline Dust
x 1 Intricate Gossamer Insignia

& x? Silk Weaving thread (Not sure how much thread here, but surely not that much since it’s time gated)

I haven’t included the other ascended materials Xunlai Electrum Ingot, and Crystalline Ingot because I believe they will be used for Jewel crafting.

Just wanted soem of you crafty theory crafters to look over this and see what you think, give some ideas etc.

Gossamer and Hard Leather have tripled in price recently.

I’m looking at GW2 Spidy at the prices, haven’t seen anything to suggest that is the case, they’ve been steady at at between 3-4 silver for the last few months, I don’t think we will see any changes till we know when ascended armor crafting will happen. Sounds like a good long term investment though. I just don;t want to have to pay crazy prices like the ancient wood and Ori at the moment :-(

My friend pugged a ~30 fractal last night, he said one of the pugs got an ascended weapon. He said he could choose the weapon, but it had to be rampager stats. Is that how it works?

Might be true but until we see a screen shot it could just be a troll posting chat codes

They are probably the destroyer weapons, try destroyer loadsstones.

Do you think we’ll need to use Gossamer and Ori, hardened leather, like we are with the weapons and doing the exotic discoveries? If so might be an idea to save gossamer now, I never see that stuff drop much. Or maybe a new mat we haven;t seen perhaps?

Cheapest exotic is 210 tokens. Its how many runs? Four explorable paths? Not the easiest way to farm, but its good as additional income.

Most people have plenty of tokens on hand, doing AC path 1 & 3 is a daily thing for a lot of folk for the 3g.+ as well as people wanting ascended mats, although Cof is better for just that if you want to rinse and repeat.

Has anyone seen this happen yet? Would they be more likely to drop in fractal dungeons then others? Post any info or screen shots if so. I have heard people say that they drop from world dragon event chests but nothing else so far to really conform this.

Buy weapon from Dungeon vendor in Lions arch for Caudecus’s Manor using tokens (210) then use black lion / mystic or master salvage kit. There’s a good chance you’ll pull the inscription out. Might be another dungeon that has em but cant be sure.

Anet should fix this so that you can craft them now, it’s the same for soldiers as well you need to use AC tokens to get them easier.

This is a really good point, could we have a developer response please.

Everyone is having this issue on Eu servers for Desolation, must be something they did on the update yesterday. Lets hope they resolve it soon. They’re going to loose a lot of business with this.

I had the same issue, we were killing the boss, then got disconnected and couldn’t relog back on. :-( No loot
