There’s a summary at the bottom if you don’t fancy reading the below.

Let me start by saying hello to everyone and welcome to the Lore School [GWEN] recruitment thread.

GWEN is a European based Casual-Hardcore PvX guild on the Aurora Glade world server. We’re a highly active group with regular PvE, PvP, WvW and Dungeon events occurring daily. The guild has a light hearted, family orientated atmosphere and is comprised of friendly faces and dedicated players; many of whom can trace their roots back to the launch of GW1.

With all complete guild upgrades, frequent buffs, commanders and many legendaries already amongst its members; it may seem that there’s not much space for the guild to grow any further. But that’s where you’d be wrong.

Always steadily expanding and making new friends, the guild seeks to unite well mannered players under a single banner of exploration and revelry. We’ll never quit, we’ll never surrender. We seek with determination to max out our achievements and titles as we dominate the arenas we face from day to day, always keeping one simple motto in mind: Be nice & Have fun!

GWEN is a proudly international guild as its members span the globe, with Brittish, Belgian, Dutch, Czech, Finnish, American and Australian members to name but a few. If you feel you’d like to meet us and trial the guild, feel free to whisper me in game or to contact any of our members on our website where you can get to know us all at: http://loreschool.net/

A brief bit of Lore School’s history.

The guild originally started as a small group of friends in GW1, first created by our current leader Zilken Zatin and called ‘The Carlton Way’ [TCW]. As its members played more and more and delved deeper into the lore of the game, Zilken created the ‘Lore School’ [GWen] to be a Kurzick guild for the release of Guild Wars Factions.

Through time and friendships made, we decided to join up with the ‘TLH’ alliance (thereby becoming Luxon affiliated) and after moving on to join the wonderful ‘Siege Turtle Alliance’ we then found ourselves within an alliance headed by long time friends ‘GWO’. It was after a very enjoyable time there we then moved on to the ‘AMP’ alliance before eventually coming full circle and rejoining once more with ‘TLH’ under the Luxon banner. Not content with mere participation however we grew and now lead the alliance after changing it to the Kurzick faction once again.

A very PvE oriented group from the start, our members compared hunting titles to big game! Lead by the example of our leader and our officers, as they encouraged members to max what they could and showed them how, the result now is that a number of the Gwendoliers in Lore School have multiple titles and high ranks in the KoaBD track. A large number of them even attaining the GWAMM title to pad out the GWen status!

We’re very proud of what we’ve achieved in our time with Guild Wars and look back on the guild with a lot of affection. Even if we had already a lot of glory in our own eyes, it was greatly appreciated when Arena Net decided to ramp it up big time by announcing us the Guild of the week back in January 2008!

What I find interesting is that although the website giving the timing of the event states the start time, nowhere does it say that it will last only 3 or so hours. – https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/releases/november-2012/#lost-shores-weekend-event

In fact, the Lost Shores Wiki (linked from the above page) states it is an “…event chain that will run multiple hours” – http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/The_Lost_Shores

Given such wording, I’m sure many people could be forgiven for thinking they had time to do it when they got home.

I know. I knew I’d be driving around this time but was thinking I’d be ok. There’d be time to do it tonight. Just in case I only had 4 hours until the 19th.

By the time I got home all the bosses were dead and I’ve now found the event was a one time only ordeal. Cheated is a word for it.

Final Event should be repeated.

Personally, I’d second this.

Ancient Karka only once?

I shouldn’t worry. I was travelling on the motorway for 3 and a half hours. Arrived home to find all Ancient Karka’s dead and now that I’m looking into it I find that the first chance was the only chance. I don’t mind a one time event if it repeats and unlocks a single instance reward like a daily. But a serious ONE TIME event was just stupid.
