1) question doesnt really make sense, vigorous recovery procs vigor when you use a healing skill, SoM doesnt have anything to do with vigor.

2)healing power will scale up how much you heal with SoM. SoM is NOT life leech, its simply a small healing proc every time you strike a foe (or in some cases like caltrops, apply bleeding)

3)use SoM, Assassins reward, and life leech food, perhaps sigil of blood (i think thats the one) if you need more, but prolly dont need the sigil. Most thieves would advise against p/p in general though, its a terribly confused set with no clear purpose, however, if you enjoy it, there are a few guides in the forum i recall seeing

There is a thief trait called “Vigorous Recovery,” which is gaining vigor when using a healing skill. So if SoM is gaining health on hit, am I gaining vigor on every hit?

“No clear Purpose,’ is nice, gives you the freedom to build in any direction, thats how I see it.

Looks good to me I think its just a matter of play style preference. I don’t think you’re build would just go obsolete because you haven’t played in a while. There is big update coming in October regarding all classes, check it out.

1) Does Vigorous Recovery (vigor on heal) stack with signet of malice?

2) If you use healing runes does it increase the health recovered on hit with signet of malice? Or if you do more damage does it take a certain % of you’re damage and convert it into leeched life? Does anybody know or have first hand experience with how this works?

3) What rune combination/sigil combination or P/P do you think would be the best balance to have a good life leech/ dmg/crit build?

Is Thief viable in PvE?

Thief’s are very good for PvE.. I run P/P zerker build with scholar runes 20/30/0/0/20. And with the trait Ricochet, your critical hits bounce of mobs and literally just destroy everything in you’re path. The downside is you are very squishy with like 13k HP. Most of the time I can mow down mobs, cast smoke screen block projectiles and blind enemies, cripple them, and kill them before they even get to me. If I am ever in danger. I will use the following skills Hide in shadows to cloak, heal, remove conditions. Shadow refuge if I am near certain death and need the 10 second cloak to retreat. And summon the Thieves guild to assist you if you become overwhelmed vaporizing mobs. I also use A Sigil of generosity to remove conditions and plague the attacker, anda sigil of force for extra damage. When I’m fighting lvl 80 mobs in Orr for example, My unload hits 10k dmg no problem

Have you tried accessing the Hall of Monuments in GW1 and speaking to Kimmes? And changing your Hall of Monuments in GW1 from account-wide to character-wide (or vice versa) and back again? That often clears up the problem. Good luck.

I played Guild Wars and the expansions and been playing Guild Wars 2 since launch. I recently recovered my Guild wars account information and linked the accounts

“Congratulations! You have successfully linked your Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 accounts. In doing so, you now have access to the exciting rewards awaiting you inside the Hall of Monuments. The following Guild Wars 2 account information will now be used to log in to both Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2’

When I go to the hall of Monuments and talk to the Historian it he tells me I don’t have access because I didn’t come before or whatever… Am I doing something wrong? I linked the accounts. Do I have to make a new character to get the benefits? I didn’t get any achievements either for linking the account.

I have been playing dual pistol since launch but I feel like most of the thieves skills don’t benefit this weapon combo in any way shape or form…. The reason why I’m posting this is because of the October update balancing some of the classes. First off if you use p/p it makes it very hard to incorporate one of the thief’s greatest advantages… stealth. The only reasonable ways to cloak yourself using P/P is either shadow refuge (60 sec cooldown) hide in shadows, or stealing. I’m just a bit disappointed as I feel p/p has been overlooked… None of the P/P skills increase the thief’s speed or mobility either.

Anyone using dual pistols feel the same way? I currently run a power/crit build with scholar runes.

Power 2.3k
Attack 3.4k
Percision 2k
Crit Chance 60%
Crit Damage 98%

Well I’m pretty bummed… I have been using a P/P thief since launch and have felt I have always been at a disadvantage due to numerous factors.

1) P/P doesn’t have any stealth attacks like all the other thief weapon combos…
2) Weak auto attack
3) Unload costs a ton of initiative.
4) There are no skills for a P/P thief that increase mobility besides stealth and the trait that increases movement speed when stealthed.
5) Stealth is very difficult to incorporate into a thief using P/P eliminating its best advantage

Whatever maybe ill wait another year to see some improvement on this forgotten class.

They did events like this back in Guild wars and the expansions, Im hoping they will keep things interesting and continue to do the same. I don’t think we had a holiday or something worthy of an event from when the game was released until currently? I DONT THINK, so don’t go all ape crap on me

While I am not sold on a zone tracker I too agree that there should be some way to check progression on a map without actually spending the silver on getting there.

What would you think of the map progression tracking changing according to what zone your looking at? If I’m zoomed into Queensdale it should show me my progression there, not Lion’s Arch (assuming that’s where I physically am).

That’s a good idea as well I think its a matter of preference. For me I would like to have a tab I can click on and Boom all the zones I visited are listed in alphabetical order smack in my face. I can see what Zones I completed or didn’t

I am in the process of trying to get 100% World Completion, currently at 62%. Many of us have run into server side issues where we couldn’t complete a particular zone. I think there should be a Zone Tracker Tab. This tab will only track the Zones you have visited.

Once you have visited a zone the name will remain greyed out until you complete and once you do it turns green. You can also click on the location and it will show the task/vistas/skillpoints/poi’s, and completed/uncompleted.

You ask the question “Why don’t you just teleport to the zone?” or “Why not just look on the map?”

-Shouldn’t have to waste silver teleporting to a zone just to check if its complete.

-Looking on the map when you have a large portion of the map completed makes it difficult to find what you are missing. (Yes I know about the map filters..)

Just a simple list that can tell you where you have been and what zones you have completed. Call me lazy or stupid or whatever. But I think the list is a fast and easy way to keep track, rather then scanning the map.
