imo if u want to do a condi ranger.. try out a longbow/gs with sinister? (not sure if its better than viper).. the druid skill that causes roots on them and bleed + trapper runes and traps.. its a nice combination of damage and condi.. really strong/mobile and great at kiting.. rip on the trapper rune nerf tho
the reason it works so well is the knockdown on longbow will proc the roots when u hit after.. also ur pet can knock them down and u can proc it.. if u go into greatsword u get a knockdown and a daze.. so its quite nasty

the whole “noone falls for decoys anyway” stuff is nonsense.. ya you cant stand there and pretend ur a clone to trick them but the idea behind it isnt to stand there.. you’re suppose to be aggressive and constantly throwing ur clones at them while you dodge around/block/invis ect .. mesmers work really well when they overload their opponent.. between decoys exploding and me going invis/using weapon skills it can get pretty confusing.. (i only say this because i fought a guy who i was constantly losing track of which was the real mesmer and who was the decoy)
so.. im guessing its the animation for alacrity.. ya know.. the pink glowy fire looking kitten? it kinda sucks dont ya think? you spam clones to hide in them and as you shatter them you glow and everyone knows which is the real mesmer.. kinda defeats the purpose doesnt it? or am i missing something?

u actually expect people to grind out upwards of 33 extra levels just to play an “elite spec”.. the same spec that the MAJOR selling point of ur expansion… we buy the stupid thing and you tell us oh.. btw.. go grind out levels.. right.. lol
just wanted to say thnx.. this helped me out a ton just now
get rid of spike trap and lightning reflexes run flame/frost/viper.. the build is amazing if played right.. keep ur distance and use ur traps to kite.. it allows you to remain in stealth pretty much permanently in a fight if used properly.. ive been running this for about 4 or 5 months now and its imo the absolute best way to play a ranger in wvw
also consider putting beast mastery instead of wilderness survival.. u open up a fight with ur pet put away so when u attack it gives u quickness right off the bat.. then u swap when u want quickness again.. really nice for smashing a thief into the ground
also auto attacks count towards the -66% cd on quickdraw.. you dont have to actually use a skill.. if u swap and u auto attack first itll count that as ur skill.. which is sad
swoop doesnt go on a -66% cd after quick draw
call of the wild says it has a 30 sec cd but it doesnt actually have one (not sure if this is a bug with the tooltip or if its a bug with how the skill is working.. should it cast every time ya swap or is it only if u wait 30s between swaps)
