The problem is not the challenge to get these things, there is no challenge. The only thing these take is time, and if you can make more money in real life in a shorter amount of time then just buy the gems to convert into gold it becomes pointless to do otherwise, you’d be asking him to “work” in a game longer than he needed to in real life to obtain something only useful in this game. If you could make 30 dollars an hour why are you going to put in 60 hours at a job making 7.50 an hour? Are you just that dull?

They won’t change this and they won’t remove this because no matter how much you try to cover it up Anet wants you to spend real cash on these things if they didn’t this game wouldn’t be in the state it is, mark my words things will only get worse.

This sums it up. Legendaries are nothing more than a massive time and/or gold sink. There is little to no actual challenge in obtaining them other than having the willpower to spend hundreds of hours grinding for it.

I work 50+ hours a week and would rather save up to buy one than grind out 2-3g per hour in game for something that costs 1300+ gold now. If I just converted what I make per hour into gold it would be vastly more efficient to do that and save time for more fun things in the game.

I’m glad you guys made it easier to get the baby quaggan mini pet, but could we also get a way to change one of the uncommon minipets into the other? I got 3 infinirariums and 3 golems left and just want to get a snowman without spending another $50 in the store.

Why is everyone still crying about this? The update occurs tomorrow; they’re not going to cancel it now even if some of them wanted to.

I personally want to hear a more detailed explanation of this “item progression initiative” and whether the original game philosophy is still being followed.

I started playing GW2 because I wanted to try something other than a gear treadmill game as I had been playing one for 6 years prior.

If I wanted a gear treadmill I’d keep playing WoW, at least their group content is FAR more polished.
