Milf had me confused lmao
Sweet, re-installing now.
Is the flamethrower fixed yet?
Did I miss anything big?
I don’t think sPvP has a learning curve… Many high profile live streamers flocked to GW2 on release and left just as quickly because it is immediately recognizable as an imbalanced PvP game. The people who stayed all populate the most OP and imbalanced class/traits possible and pretty much live on a loop playing against the same teams day in and day out because there is no sPvP community.
The first step is to not live in denial and make excuses that the game didn’t have enough popularity or people didn’t know how to play. The people played it and didn’t like it and moved on. Address that. Fix the game. Maybe people will come back.
Where did they all go?
Glass wars 2 is like watching the knicks play the lakers
Rifle
The rifle is a good weapon except that there is no focus in what it is supposed to be.
Rifle to me makes complete sense. I vision it and use it as flexible weapon intended for kiting melee attacks, landing a heavy burst combo on a glass cannon caster, etc. 2 CC’s, a leap, and 2 attacks based on range/kiting. I absolutely love the rifle and its versatility.

Are you a moba player? If not then you should be. Having “stages” in a hot-join environment is a disaster. It will just magnify the snowball effect in a major way. Not exactly what you want in gw2 at this moment.
Of course its at the top of the charts, its an amazing game
After 15 years of chasing a carrot and being yelled at by 12 year olds I would hope that a vast majority of the MMO community would be open to change.
So, why is it different? Chasing the carrot has been introduced here too. It’s called Fractals/Ascended.
GW2 has a lot of positives, just not the ones that matter to me, but the carrot is here.
You are not forced to do anything in this game.
You could play the entire game in blue gear and you’d be just fine.
Fractals are not a forced loot chase and a Legendary is not a grind, if you don’t want to do those things then don’t do them.
The Fractals/Legendary are here for the players that want to chase after the better gear. People have been brainwashed by WoW into thinking you have to chase after better gear, you don’t.
If you willfully subject yourself to doing something that you don’t want to do, that’s your fault. That’s not ANet’s fault.
What game are you playing? If somehow you THINK you are playing GW2 then I feel oddly sorry for you.
They’ve known about it since launch. But I highly doubt it will get fixed anytime soon. Maybe next summer?
Not everyone runs elixir r and even if they did that’s still taking up a valuable skill slot just to make up for a luck-luster downstate. In team fights the only thing I can possibly help with is to fire my interrupt off at some random target hoping I can cause underwhelming cc and potentially stop one cast. Last but not least the 3rd skill is alright but has a horrible timer. Even if you perfectly interrupt someone’s stomp its still not ready to use for the 2nd incoming stomp when they get back up. So basically just a PvE skill for rallying on low hp monsters.
No classes #3 ability is available after just 1 interrupt, the person must always be a little slow with stomping to use it. That is completely fine and should not be a source of complaint.
It’s not anywhere the source of my complaint, did you just randomly skim through what I said and only happen to read that part? And even if it was my source of complaint it still isn’t okay. We are not on par with the other classes. Maybe if you were able to have some kind of customization in your downed abilities to add to your build mechanics/play-style then I think a lot of people would be much happier.
I ran a few games in bomb kit and had a really hard time, granted it isn’t like you can just pick something up and excel but I did have issues. Many of my opponets would just simply kite me causing me to either give up the node or just get destroyed from distance. If I maybe drop the role of being a bunker and change to something more “roamingish” do you think Pow/Vit/Tough with grenades and elixirs would serve me well? I just don’t want to make a unreliable build, get good with it, get exotics, and then turn around a realize all these things I could’ve done better.
tldr: Is Pow/Vit/Tough a good choice for Engie

How are bunkers ruining tPvP? This doesn’t even make sense to me. You can’t blame people for building tanky when the whole objective of tPvP is capping and holding points. If anything, 5 people on one team all thinking they can roam is ruining (pug) tPvP.
Even Jonathan Sharp can agree on the bunker thing. Bunkers are so effective that they rule out the use of some pure glass cannons. Bunkers are supposed to be countered by glass cannons with their raw burst that can overcome their defenses. Right now the answer to holding a point is BUNKERS BUNKERS BUNKERS. This in no way promotes team variety. Especially when at a given time one bunker may be more effective than another, meaning if you want to run ultimate cheese then you need to run 2 of those bunkers, or maybe 1 with a soft bunker like a portal mesmer.
Pretty sure condition builds with armor ignoring bleeds and healing reducing poisons are suppose to counter bunkers, burst builds are suppose to kill condition builds before they can stack bleeds
Thank you.
I absolutely love seeing a warrior bull rush me in spvp because I find its the easiest class to tear to pieces. Learn to cc and add more tough/vit and you’ll be just fine.
Unless he has a rifle and knows how to use it. In which case I hope you packed some vasoline.
@ OP. Engineers are more fun than warriors IMO and are capable at doing most things at least at a mediocre level, we are kings of CC above all else.
But saying that, if you want something that’s easy to play, will do more damage than anything an engineer can do with 2 buttons alone and generally have a far easier time wrecking people then warrior is definitely the way to go.
And yes from a PvE perspective warriors are straight up better than engineers, but that is true for pretty much every class compared to a warrior in a PvE scenario.
edit: Not being able to kill mobs your own level tells me there is something off about your playstyle or something. Make sure you are using kits a lot as our main weapons do pretty bad damage and are more used for utility.
You don’t even need the rifle for warriors with all the stun breaks, blinds, and the shield. Or you could just dodge. You can also roll without kits and still do solid damage, the rifle hits like a truck, and the pistol(s) is some of the best condition spam in the game.
He was talking about rifle warriors not rifle engineers.
Engineers have one of the best downstates for teamfights. Sometimes people its not all about you. But hey, with that self res from elixir r you can just get up with those soothing vapors.
It was bad durring beta when skills 1 and 3 did no damage for the most part, it was impossible to rally of a kill in pve with it. It is now just fine.

I would personally like to see the turrets become either more like shamans totems from WoW or have them buffed to be a possible build contender. They’re in a awkward place lost somewhere in-between.
I’ve been heavily focusing on staying mid-node in spvp with my build being 20/0/30/20/0 and a soldiers amulet. I use pistol/shield, elixir h, elixir b, elixir c, and grenades. Do you guys think it would be beneficial to try and use conditions instead of power for trying to help take/keep a position on the map?

Warrior rifle is all about single target. It would make my day to see a rifle warrior go against a bunker engie with a shield. Especially in group scenarios with multiple teammates for that warrior to have to focus on. So I really don’t know what you’re saying here.

I 100% agree. Engineers have a horrible downstate.
Depends on if you’re talking spvp, pve, or wv3. Google vitality vs toughness and you’ll get almost all your answers. However, I play a bunker in spvp so I run max toughness and pistol/shield and do a lot better than stacking max vit just because I feel like engineers already have a good hp pool and need more work on toughness because of their medium gear
30/0/0/10/30 Dagger Dagger, Carrion Gear.
My build was intended for spvp in melee range.
I’m trying to avoid re-speccing for dungeons/wv3, are these talents viable in Wv3 zerg’s and less-so dungeons? I don’t mind changing anything except my talents obviously. Anyone have some advice?
im using a condition build with staff/swords and have been flying through content 100 times easier than with my engie, thief, and guardian combined.
Purpose
D/D Conditions with SB for escape/range
Traits
Deadly Arts: 30 ( IV, V, XI)
Critical Strikes: 0
Shadow Arts: 0
Acrobatics: 10 ( II )
Trickery: 30 ( V, VII, XI)
Equips
Runes: Nightmare
Sigils: Agony
Gear: Carrion
How it works
Entering into the battle I pop my venom, Use death blossom to Evade/Stack Bleeds, Steal to grant 4-6 boons to myself and allies. Mid battle I either heal, try to regain initiative and carry on. Or aim to escape.
Pros
-Good escape due to Roll for Initiative, Acrobatics, and Signet of Agility.
-Great condition damage.
-Good vitality (Not so glass)
Cons
-Lackluster but not too bad at 1v1’s
-Only finisher is the Immobilize at 50% HP then Heartseeker spam
Notes
What I was going for was a conditions thief with high survivability and ended up with this. It’s still early in development but by all means tell me how I can improve.

so i could get level 80 gear and transfer its looks to my level 30 gear?
Think you need the high end transmutation stone for lvl 80 gear, and it needs to be of a similar type ie heavy armour boots transmuted with heavy armour boots.
thanks for the info/feedback
so i could get level 80 gear and transfer its looks to my level 30 gear?
Having been browsing the forums and seeing the “Let’s see your profession” screenshots I have noticed people’s characters wearing tons of different looking armor and gear all the way from level 20-80. My main character is level 30 but looks like I still have the starting gear. Can anyone explain how to get these armor skins or explain how other peoples characters got these awesome looking gear/armors at such low levels? Any help is greatly appreciated.
