What happens is that your game freezes or gets stuck or crashes (whatever you call it) and the screen goes black and you only here the sound. You can’t CTRL-ALT-DEL and end task, the only way is to restart your system.
So I’ve been having this problem and finally something that fixed it was to underclock my graphics card. It wasn’t overclocked to begin with but for some reason underclocking worked.
How to do it: Get a software which allows to change clock speed (I used MSI Afterburner) and reduce the clock speeds down by a 100. (eg: 1242 to 1142, 648 to 548)
Hope this helps all of you that have this problem, Anet support wasn’t any helpful as I have a ticket that was opened on launch day until I fixed it for myself lastnight.
PS: I can play other games without any problems but for some reason I have to underclock to play GW2.
