Running around and pressing 1 might as well be running around and pressing F.

Its a great update. People who think otherwise were not here for flame and frost. Where all you got was random portals popping out mobs with very little back story behind them. Lol for the first part of that story progression all we were doing was running around fixing sign post for crying out loud.

This isn’t much different from signposts, honestly.

I really like the ambience and buildup.

This buildup is as exciting as hitting signs for a month.

Is it too hard? Respect the awesome work

To the developers: snip

Snip. I also disagree that it’s the mark of a troll game to make you go back and buy a piece of equipment to progress. That is pretty much the core mechanic of metroidvania games.

While it is a core mechanic of those games, they are normally nice enough to give necessary items for free. I don’t think I’ve actually played a metroidvania where I had to buy a required item, as they were generally given for killing a boss.

Edit: Looks like someone else made the same point.

Player numbers from the Chinese GW2 website.

The amount of hours played seems extremely low for the amount of active players they’re talking about. It’s a bit outdated, but in 2010, NPD stated that the average American gamer played around 13 hours per week. I’ve known some people who played GW2 for 20 hours per week.

Also, while it’s not an MMO, Diablo 3 might be a decent comparison for numbers. It sold 12 million copies, and in May there was an infographic release. People played a total of 8 million hours per day in that game while the game averaged 2.1 million players per day. The numbers for Guild Wars 2 just don’t seem to make much sense.

I still don’t understand why this was somehow wrong, while crafting & salvaging rares is somehow fine. Both methods can easily be used to make an infinite amount of ectos, both only limited by the amount of money you have on hand.

Not to mention that this wasn’t even a bug. Some developer at ArenaNet designed that recipe to be like that. It may have had unintended consequences, but how are the players supposed to even know when ANet is trying to shift the market and when it’s a legitimate error? With the mystic chests, ANet caused the market to dump tons of butter by raising the demand. How were players supposed to know that this was not similar? This recipe would lower the price of ectos and raise the price of both snowflakes and mithril.

All I know is that now I’m afraid of being banned for completely unknown reasons.
