Will the one time event be repeated along the day?

So….if you are not able to be online at a specific time on one day, there is no point of doing this event?

Thank you ArenaNet. Now I can safely plan my weekend without worrying about getting online. I have far too much to do, to waste time with a one-time event lasting only 3 days and requiring me to be here at EXACTLY the right moment.

And after the Halloween event, I am now recommending to other not to participate either. The selling point of this game was that I could play at my own pace, in my own time. FORCING players to jump to on events ruins that. Make this a 3-month event and maybe I’ll reconsider….but this? This is crap and you know it.

Interesting how many posters who say they liked the clock tower had to add in bits like ‘despite what other people say’.

And yes I’m one of them…sort of. The event was ok, with some nice touches like the pumpkin carving. But the Clock Tower…yeah, you’re going to notice the only people who enjoyed it were the ones who finished it, usually multiple time and likely with either a Norn or Charr. Unfortunately, they are not in the majority.

Personally, I don’t mind the difficulty…but it doesn’t need to be a group instance. The reward really doesn’t make up for the HOURS you have to put in to do it just once, especially on a limited-time event like this. Next time, make it a solo instance with a 15-second respawn timer….and make the loot a random pick from a list, which cannot be dropped again. THAT could add incentive to try again. Also…seriously…don’t put exotics in limited time events. Some of us have lives and things to do on holidays, eh? Don’t make me regret having this game when I should be enjoying myself.

So…now we have people that have completed it saying the tower was no fun.

After 12 hours over 5 days, I have to walk away from this game and event because…well…I have a job, wife, baby and other projects that require attention. This event has only brought stress and boredom. All the other parts were fine (scanvenger hunt, PvP pumpkin patch, etc)…but this…this was NOT entertaining.

And I wish I could claim it was just this old gamer’s reflexes talking, but polls I am seeing on other sites are starting to tell the tale that this event has NOT endeared ArenaNet to it’s players in general or anyone else.

Personally, I would like to see it stay as hard as it is, but make it a solo instance zone with a 15 second respawn timer if you fail. That alone would likely remove about 60-80% of the complains for this puzzle alone.

After 6+ hours of buggy cameras and overlapping character, yeah I had to put a stop to this. I know what the rewards are for making this, but any event…especially a JUMPING PUZZLE, that seems to average at least 6-14 hours to beat ONCE, really isn’t worth my time.

This is a challenging puzzle, and so be it. I would gladly put the work in to master it. However, making it part of a limited event AND making it a group event makes no sense. The only thing groups do as add to the difficulty and frustration, but not the fun. The camera is bad enough but workable IF I could just get the 5+ other people standing in the same spot to move and see where “I” am.

I have a job, a wife and a 6-month old. I want to take part in this, but I simply canot justify spending a third of a day…on a jumping puzzle. If it was a massive dungeon or major boss…or some kind of huge interactive event, then yes I could. A jumping puzzle simply is not worth it. Even if I was to beat it, at this point it would lead to me taking a long break from the game because instead of being entertaining, I am now bored and angry at it.

So yes, this is NOT fun. Maybe for you lucky few that can spend 12+ hours a day on it…but if you can, maybe you should think about WHY you can?
