Why accommodate people who didn’t put in the time for it?
Why do you assume this is an “accommodation” and not “a necessary balance change”?
It was balanced, they’re just nerfing, nerfing isn’t balancing. Everyone had access to those buffs therefore equal opportunity.

You don’t need to be super good or anything, so long as they put the time in the time, they would’ve got it. If you put in the time and effort and they don’t how is that fair?
Out of the available mastery’s it has the most incentive as it affects you the entire time vs siege usage.
Therefore, it’s TOO important in comparison to the rest of the options and needs to be rebalanced.
The approach toward the rebalancing doesn’t always have to be removal, make options less important or make the other options better (which they are doing now).
If you want to put players such as newer ones on the same level as existing ones just make the cost cheaper.
This goes against your “earn it” statement.
Making it cheaper still “balancing” and still makes players earn it.
Forcing the idea of putting points into other/improved Mastery’s isn’t a good compromise for those in favor of using the two that are being removed.
The current system FORCES you to put points into these already. Getting rid of them doesn’t FORCE you to do anything. It’s the opposite.
It forces you to give up on previous efforts, at least by making it cheaper everyone gets something out of it compared to stepping all over it.
Where did all that hard work go?
Into every single other possible attribute.
Every other possible attribute at the moment doesn’t really help unless siege is involved. The hard work was towards an incentive that could be used on non-siege battles has gone to waste.
They put the time into it therefore they deserve it.
Deserve what?
To have an advantage? otherwise it’s like saying new players should be able to play at level 80 with everything unlocked instead of being upleveled “for balance” because it is mandatory for them to level first.
You don’t like grinding stacks? or especially when you have to respond quickly to another WvW map? […] You don’t like pve?
If players don’t like something, you think it should stay? You do realize this is a game, right?
If players don’t like something it shouldn’t stay however removing it only benefits newer players and hurts “some” existing players because it was a goal that was striven for only to later find out it that it will taken away. Ideally there should have been an in-between solution that made everyone happy no? i.e. the ability to reset the WvW rank distribution points or by playing with or being near a veteran player provides the buffs to everyone nearby or something. Applied Fortitude and Strength are definitely necessary for situations where you are outnumbered and by removing it, it’s just going to be more so a contest of numbers with people that “refuse” to put in the time.

You don’t like being pitted up against an EOTM player that grinded their WvW rank up? They put the time into it therefore they deserve it.
You don’t like grinding stacks? or especially when you have to respond quickly to another WvW map? By being there ahead of time you deserve that advantage (preparation and strategy).
You don’t like pve? There are guards everywhere you might as well get stacks from something you can’t completely avoid.
