You were talking about timeline in Tyria. All “new” sylvari which are created by us are in 1325 AE, before killing Zhaitan. Sylvari’s personal story will not change. The same with dungeons. Clearing of Ascalonian Catacombs or Citadel of Flame took place in 1325 AE. For new players or characters thats mean, they are in some kind of retrospection in this locations.

Now we have 1327 AE which show our Story Journal. So, living world is taking place after our character begin story, Trahearne form Pact and defeat first Elder Dragon, Zhaitan. Open world is changing and we see it. Kessex Hills, Lion’s Arch, even Dry Top. So now, they can even destroy The Grove, and kill Avatar of Tree, because it consist with lore.

One very bad thing is that, locations in personal story are changing with open world. Cause if we are defending Lion’s Arch in 1325 AE and this location is destroyed by Scarlet (which took place two years later in 1327 AE) it’s very confusing, isn’kitten

Probably it’s hard to change this, but i hope ANET is working about it.
