My cursor also disappears frequently. I have tried using salvage kits but it does not bring the cursor back. I have to restart the client.
I was having similar issues and came across an old thread which suggested changing your DNS settings to 8.8.8.8 in Primary and 8.8.4.4 in secondary.
It worked for me!

I love you guys !!!! This works brilliantly.
I had to change the DNS settings on my actual service provider software instead of the PC because my network adapter has pre-set default settings that re-set the PC settings to their defaults.
