Throwing hammers is cool.
Turning into mist, jump-slamming your target, and then returning is cool.
Creating a giant hammer in the air is cool.
Having a basic 1-2-3 hammer combo so that it feels like swinging a hammer into the enemy’s face WOULD be cool, but then they replaced it with what they have now.
Also yes, glitches abound with terrain differences.
I want shark’s head gloves…
Picture it: swimming up to your target and punching them with shark teeth gauntlets!
Actually… why isn’t there a monk/fighter/fist weapon based class?
First off, love the revenant class. The only complaint I have is that the legend’s abilities seem to lack a little… oomph I guess?
That. And hammers. Hammers are by far my favorite fantasy weapon. Especially if the animations make it look like my character is strong enough to wield it easily.
Long distance? Really? Okay fine. But Hammer 1 is just weird. The other abilities are fine I suppose, but I really would’ve liked them to at least use a similar base attack to the warrior. ITS A GIANT HAMMER. Its supposed to feel like you can smash the heads of dragons or break castle walls, not do a small circular motion and shoot a ball of mist. Sigh… rant over.
Yeah, its always made perfect sense to me.
Throw axe
Axe goes through target all misty-like
You teleport behind them like a mist ninja
Profit.
Then I follow up with Sword 3, sometimes 2.
I guess I’m in the minority here. While I fully support Anet adding a bajillion more styles of everything so that we all look more unique, I like the face presets.
Due to FF7, all of my chars in any game are some variant of Sephiroth-looking. So the anime-styled face works for me. I do wish there was a longer-haired style to go with it that didn’t clip on all my armor but I understand the complications.
I’d also like to see some color variants in the hair.
From my limited experience so far, warrior has much higher survivability. It has the signet skills that passively improve your stats which helps a lot. I hardly ever got close to dying. Plus, hammers are so much fun!
The revenant is a heavy armor class too, but I’ve found it to be a bit more of a challenge in terms of surviving. You just have to learn to use the skills in a good combination. I recommend main-handing a sword simply for the 3-attack which lets you teleport attack multiple times, and off-handing whatever you want. (I like axes.)
