A Character locker or Wardrobe option.

Good evening all.

I thought about this while transmuting amours. How do you guys feel about a Wardrobe option or a character locker.

My concern:

As it stands currently if you want to get the look of a different amour set you have to use transmute stones. Which is fine in a way, however what if you want to go back to the look you had before. Or what if you want the stats of a better piece of gear however you like the looks of both of them so you don’t want to loose the look you got in case you want to change it back. In the case of racial gear if you transmuted over it you would have to buy it back and use another stone to transmute the skin back.

My solution:

How about a locker that of course expands with gems if you like. Which is sort of like a wardrobe closet. Same principle in terms of the trasnmute stones however with this you don’t loose the skin of the previous set. Instead that skin is kept in your locker sort of like how dye packs are kept when you add them to your collection. So then you can switch back when you want.

Of course you can charge for the locker as well as for the increased space. What do you guys think?

I just want to collect multiple skins so I can switch when I feel the urge to.

Greatsword skins - what do you think?

I agree to an extent. I feel that pretty much all the weapons and armor are kinda generic. Skins is the name of the game. This is the selling point because everyone wants to look nice. They should have a dedicated staff whose only purpose is to make skins. This is how they get their investment back.

Also there should be a armor viewer on this site so that people can view and look for the pieces that they want…my bad if there is one lol.

So by your argument, if all the legendary weapons looked like drek, the best solution would be to transmute them with rare/masterwork skins?

if legendarys looked like shiyt nobody would go thru pain of crafting them, since they are mostly skins.
Are you saying that legendarys do look like crap?

No, on the contrary, most of the weapons look pretty good; far better than the armour skins.

Which is my point. People actually want the weapon skins. I don’t see anyone going around talking about how they can’t wait to finally finish armour skin [x] and that points to the fact that the armour in general isn’t very appealing.

Your reply to this is to claim that we should be satisfied with the generic lower level looks, but that’s a poor solution in a game where pretty skins/armour is supposed to be what end-game is about.

You do make a solid point. This game is all about looks, I’m surprised honestly that there are not many more sets being sold on the TP for gems. Seriously this game is about looks since they stats are pretty much easy to come by. Everyone wants to look cool, but there should be a vast difference between a new level 80 and a level 80 who has been that way for a while and has gotten that new karma set or whatever set their is to buy.

Why were dungeons added to the monthly?

lol seems like a lot of people have bad experiences with the dungeons in the game, myself included. I like the idea of doing them I just don’t like so much how they are handled. They seem to be overly hard and not hard but more so frustrating. I can not for the life of me get past that mound in AC explorable. The respawns are just to fast.

Also it might just be me but I see no difference when I trait into toughness in terms of survivability nor traiting into power or crit. Just seems like they do the same thing.

Also someone told me to wait till I have better gear and I am at level 80 and I will see an improvement in the dungeons…well personally I do not. Of course it probably is just me but I still seem to get killed all the same.

I’m a ranger by the way.

I do wish they would implement some kind of dungeon grouping system. Not so much porting you to the dungeon but more so listing people and what dungeons they want to go to and grouping like that. and we run or way point ourselves there. Seems tedious to have to go to the zone and wait at that waypoint for that dungeon and hope someone shows up.

Am I the only one who wouldnt like new races?

Why couldn’t we have both? I mean what if they had a patch that contained both a new race with lore etc as well as updating the lore, armor, issues, gear, story etc for the other races. Personally if I was running this game i would have a post of future things like the guy rebooting FF14. So people can kind of speculate and at least get a sliver of an idea where the game is going.

Personally It would be better if we had a locker or something in which we could switch at will instead of transmuting. Or you could even have a cost to it, but at least this way you could keep different visual sets for use.

You could even have two diff. types of lockers one use or infinite use ones and restrict them to character instead of account wide.

I have not really played GW1 although I dabbled in it a bit. I’m curious as to why they just don’t bring those armors over albiet update them a bit but still wouldn’t that sate some people’s desires?

Personally I really like this game the only real gripe I have is that I can’t find a guild that actually converses and does things. I’d even switch servers if I could find a like minded group of people.

Ah I see what you are saying. Thank you very much for the reply. So I’ll just get a karma set and keep those stats as well as a racial set and look on the TP for the stats that I want and transmute that as well.

Character Skins and Transmutation.

Good Morning all,

I have a question concerning skins. For instance during the Halloween event if you look on the trade post you can buy the Mad King outfit as well as a witch/warlock outfit.

I know they can not be used in combat but:

1. Are they transmutable? I would assume not since what would be the purpose of transmuting them but this leads to the overall question.

2. If they are transmutable which I assume they are not, could they then be used in combat. The reason I ask is because it doesn’t say its not transmutable. Also the skins are they set pieces or just a skin that sort of transforms you. Because if it’s the later then that would explain why It could not be transmuted.

3. If you have 2 different set pieces for example the Karma armor set and the racial set. Both are nice sets but clearly the racial set has lesser stats. Say I wanted to have both skins is there no way to do this. For example…I want the karma stats with the racial set. I know that the karma skin set will be destroyed. Then on a later date I decide I want to look different is there no way to get that karma set back outside of buying it again?

If that is the case I wish they would add a wardrobe or something that would save the skins you had so that you would not have to buy them again. Am I wrong in this assumption?
