No, clearly they didn’t set up the hoops for me to jump through.

To any mods; this IS an account issue and this IS the account issue thread. Please take that into consideration before closing down this, or any other, post about accounts.
I have been waiting, now day 8, to hear back from customer support. I was graced with one response from a Dorothy saying:
Hello,
Thank you for contacting NCsoft Account Support.
I am unable to change your account name to —-————————— (Email) , as this e-mail address already has a Guild Wars or Guild Wars 2 account on it. We request that you submit another two email addresses of your choice, in order of preference. As long as the name is not already taken, we will gladly change your account name to something you prefer and restore your access to the account.
I responded about 10 minutes after this and never got any other answers. I really enjoyed playing Guild Wars 2 for the two days that I was able to and I hope that my account issues can be fixed quickly, as of now though it seems that very few people who have been waiting as long as I have have been helped.
This is my ticket # if anything can be done soon- 120831-021636
Thanks
Gaile if you could please give us a rough estimate of just how many people are having issues, all account related issues that is. From what I’ve seen on the forums it seems to be about 3000 or so, but I can’t exactly tell… I think it would put it into perspective of just how hard you are all working over at Anet. Thanks if you reply.
I’ve been locked out of my account because of hacking for a week now 30th-6th and haven’t gotten any helpful replies so far…
Hang in there, hopefully this thread will give you some encouragement to stick it out…
Well I’m seriously about to just dump the account and buy a new one, get a refund later when all the noise has died down…

I’m in the same boat as Khang, I’ve had one response that was of no help so I’m about out of luck I think. Account hacked the 30th (around 11 pm) Ticket created the next morning one reply three days later, and nothing since. I suppose I should be lucky I got anything at all…
Gaile I just did as you asked (creating a new ticket to get my old one “prioritized”) but I’m not sure why or how my ticket was overlooked, and I have no way of deleting the ticket that I was asked to submit yesterday on the issue… At one point I even got a response from a Dorothy? Saying:
Hello,
Thank you for contacting NCsoft Account Support.

We request that you submit another two email addresses of your choice, in order of preference. After that I updated the ticket three times over the next couple of days and never got another response…
This is the ticket # 120831-021636
New World Society (NWS for short) Is a friendly low level guild on EU Ring of Fire. We are geared towards PvE at the moment and focusing on incorporating all of the guild necessities. Once we have more members and have gotten ourselves situated we will start focusing more on PvP and high end PvE. If you would like an invite whisper Mio Fuji (one of 3 leaders) for an invite. All are welcome
Gaile, I have a ticket from the 31st and I’ve updated it as requested but I was wondering if there seems to be no answer how long we should wait to update it again to try and get a response?
Reference #: 120831-021636 Just in case
Also please note I’m posting this from my brother’s account because I cannot access my own to log into the forums and cannot close my newest ticket.
Gray I am unable to change my ticket title to Hacked Account as suggested but here is the reference number and I have been waiting since the 31st to get this sorted out.

I have updated my ticket reference # 120905-006157 anxiously awaiting a reply. Hoping to hear something from Arena Net soon.
So I’m not sure if anyone else tried to “verify” their account in the log in screen when first starting the game, but it seems a bit odd that I lost my account shortly after doing that and also never received an email to verify the account…
I realize how many people are having issues with the game currently but I still think this would be FAR faster if Arena Net were to open a hotline for players to call in and discuss their issue real time with someone on the Arena Net support staff. Just a thought
there are more peoples hacked because the security of gw2 sucks than because of stupid passwords….
True story, No security questions? No possible phone validation? Terribly lacking if you ask me.
ArenaNet:
I think you guys should be focusing more on the people with legitimate support concerns, rather than the people who got themselves hacked for not being smart about account security. It’s the Internet, people should be used to needing good passwords and such by now.
You say you are focusing on people with hacked accounts but there are TOO MANY people with other legitimate account concerns that have been waiting for close to a week (maybe longer?) and they didn’t do something STUPID like use a lame password or give their login info to a “gold-seller” or whatever.
Why don’t you help the people who CAN’T help themselves (ie: accounts banned and no idea why!), rather than the people who DIDN’T & WON’T help themselves (ie: gullible dummies with weak passwords).
I’m very frustrated by this because my ONE guildmate hasn’t been able to play for DAYS and not because he abused an exploit or got his account hacked out of stupidity. This is now affecting MY gameplay experience because having my guildmate (best friend) in-game with me is what makes these fun for me, ever since Ultima Online.

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Players-Awaiting-Help-merged/first#post4180I seriously expect you guys to give him an answer. I spent the entirety of beta convincing him how awesome this game is and how much he’s going to enjoy it – and he was enjoying it! Until he got “permabanned” and we have no idea why.
How happy do you think he is with the game now? I know I’m quickly losing my patience and my account is still functioning!

THIS is what your priority list should look like:
1: Legitimate account concerns (banned and don’t know why, game code not working, broken features, etc)
2: Hacked account recovery
3 – 49: ANYTHING else
50: Idiot exploit abusers getting a second chance when they don’t deserve it
Please start taking care of the customers who should mean the most, not the ones who whine the loudest or who can’t take care of themselves. I like ArenaNet and I like Guild Wars 2 but you guys have seriously got your priorities twisted.
Thank you.

You make it sound as though everyone who was hacked did any number of the things you listed above, when in reality only a handful probably did. I for one didn’t give out any of my information and in order to even access the email I used it’s required to have my phone verify with a validation code. Having said that I think that what the people that were hacked fall under the category of “Legitimate Account Issues” that you stated above. Also, you think that those that were hacked CAN help themselves? That’s like saying: I was mugged and had my wallet stolen, but I can still pay for things without any form of currency…
My friend, who trusts me enough to give you a simple reference number, asked me to make a forum post on his behalf.
He is still waiting a reply on his account being lost with reference number 120831-021636
He would have done it himself but since he was unable to access his account, there was no way for him to log into the Guild Wars 2 forum.
It’s a little ridiculous that you would make people have not only a Guild Wars 2 account, but access to the game in order to make a forum post. Maybe add a “guest sign in” area so those with lost accounts can still get help?
