@Ixa – Yeah because stealing a legendary weapon would cause 0 rage. Yup.
I will say this now, so far GW2 has only impressed me in so many ways that I could make another post explaining how much improvement they have made on MMO’s, and I hope that GW2 will continue to build on that impression from here. The sheer amount of content given through out the entirety of the game is amazing, however, when I read the article written by Mike Zadorojny I had feelings of being left out.
I am a massive PvP’er, having spent countless hours in DaOC’s WvWvW or Arena’s in several other games, and for the most part PvP is the only thing keeping myself subscribed (or in this case buying expansions). I do know that PvP is not for everyone but not having a singular mention to increasing the end game content in either Arena or WvWvW had me slightly put off. While I do love dungeons, exploring, and events they are not what keep me excited about a game. Most likely it isn’t a big deal, they just over looked it for the other article about the state of WvWvW (which didn’t talk of expanding it), but would like to point you to a game where they were promised more and didn’t/haven’t received more.
LOTRO was one of my favorite MMO’s, and several times I have moved from it only to come back to it months later. The PvP in LOTRO was some of the most fun I ever had, really feeling the sense of community whether you were a freep (free person aka good guys) or creep (bad guy). I still recount back to some of the days with some old friends of the joys I had in that game. What happened though is that the player base was promised more to the PvP, in that case only having the singular map and no open world PvP. When the expansion patches came out I was disappointed, no such expansion on the PvP realm.
This is what I don’t want to happen to GW2. Please write your own thoughts on this as well.
