Currently I have full cleric set, but I have access to a set of zerker jewelry. I was considering a Ah type build revolving around shouts, and possibly traiting my virtues to give boons also. Would commanders gear be overkill? I can craft one set of ascended heavy armor, but I would hate to make something unnecessary.

Recently returned to the game and could use a bit of advice. I’ve mostly been running a tank/healer hammer build with my buddy, but I’ve been thinking there must be a better build type for the content we do. Possibly a boon type build to take advantage of all the pets.
I realize it wouldn’t be a meta type build, but what kind of build would work well with a MM necromancer. We mostly just duo dungeons and low level fractals.

I have the same problem. Took a few of my older characters through the personal story to get some mastery points and was not awarded any. I did notice that the achievement panel does not show as rewarding mastery points until after you get the achievement.

The hero story achievements are bugged at the moment. They don’t award a mastery point currently. If you were awarded them retroactively it seems to have worked. If you have any of the achievements unearned they will not show a mastery point. When you earn the achievement it will then show one on the panel but one will not be awarded to you. Not sure if it is this way for everyone, but there was a thread going earlier with a few people that were experiencing this. Just a heads up.

The incomplete story ones never show mastery in the achievement panel until you complete them. The wiki says they reward mastery so many people have been doing them to try and grab a few mastery points. Unfortunately, it seems like they are not currently awarding points. Hopefully it will be fixed soon or anet will come out and say you are not supposed to get mastery on more then one personal story.

Problem seems to be that when unearned it shows no mastery point. However, when you earn it it shows a mastery point on the panel. The wiki says it should grant you a point, and most people say they have been awarded points retroactively for these achievements. Either people got awarded quite a few points that were unintended and that can not be earned now, or they were mistaken on what they got the points for. Possibly the awarding of the points for race story missions is bugged at the moment. Seems like a bug but time will tell.

No I had never done the achievement before. I tried it out by making a human and completing the level 10 achievement which I never had. I did get the achievement but did not get a mastery point.

Same for me. I finally did my charr personal story and I still haven’t earned any points that are tied to the story achievements.

I just recently returned to the game and rolled a engineer. I found this page very helpful for looking at builds and trait selections. The leveling build & kit skills explanation part is very good for someone new to the class.
