If you are stacking you are voluntarily nerfing yourself.
What’s more important to you, having fun, or seeing large numbers appear on your screen?
Sorry mate, but 3k+ hours of entertainment with no subscription is pretty much the best deal you’re going to get anywhere. At some point you have to accept that you’ve bellied up to the bar and gotten your fill. I think it’s unrealistic to expect any game to provide you with an infinite amount of playability. You are within that top 1% of people who have squeezed every last drop of juice out of the orange and all credit to you, but you have to understand that at some point there is a limit.
Are there any plans to address the stability of the Mac client? As of now I can bank on at least one crash every few hours of play. Not a big deal if I’m just putzing around doing events. But I’ve crashed in the middle or near the end of lengthy story chapters and have been forced to repeat it more than a few times.
This is the beta bug that inspired the joke. Maybe this will soothe the wounds of those mortally wounded souls that had to suffer through this horrible event.

As a Christian, I find the new bug highly offensive – everyone seems to be stuck in a crucifixion pose, and there appears to be no way to disable this. Even worse, I’ve heard this might be intentional.
Please remove this from the game, as I’m sure other Christians are offended also.
Really? People can’t even hold their arms out like an airplane without offending the religious? You never did that as a kid?
You heard it may be intentional? From who? Oh right, if someone starts a rumour it must be true!
Of course in reality you must know that was not the intention, and intention is everything. Why be offended over something that was obviously not meant to be offensive? Why go out of your way to be upset?
Save your outrage for the incredible list of atrocities visited on humans every single day? There’s no need to make up kitten to be offended by.
Yes please. I also do not like being posed this way right before Easter
That is hysterical.
They also pronounce Niamh in the living story wrong. It’s a tradition gaelic name that should be pronounced “Neev”.
I think you have to be willing to let go of things like that though. Words and traditions change just like any living thing. Struggling to keep things like that the same, isn’t really worth the worry and effort.
When 95% of the achievement could be completed in PVE, it always felt like a bit of a bait and switch to force players to WvW to achieve the final 5%. Is there any other achievement out there that so heavily favors one game mode then suddenly switches for the final 5% for completion? It just seemed like an odd choice from the beginning and I think they’ve made the right decision to fix it.
People who are interested in WvW will try WvW. Forcing people to WvW may certainly convert a few players, but it likely causes more frustration than anything. Is the trade off worth it? I doubt it.
Smart move ANet!
These things are subjective.
Frankly, coming off of WOW, I’m just glad the armor isn’t on an engine that’s over 10 years old.
That’s a misleading statement. Try running WoD on the same machine Vanilla WoW ran on 10 years ago. It won’t happen. Every expansion they release adds more polygons and increases textures. You may not like the style and that’s totally fine, but it has less to do with the engine and more about a conscious design choice Blizzard makes.
Hey there, I’m a returning player and looking for an active guild. I’d love to speak to someone about signing on as an associate. I’m online weekdays between 9pm – 12pm and more frequently during the weekend. Cheers!
Hey guys, hopefully this was unintentional, but I logged in today to complete Flame and Frost only to find the bonfires removed, despite your guide saying that we had until the 16th to complete.

Any chance this will be patched back in?
I’m with Bhawb. Organized, well played Zergs you may encounter efficient condition removal, but by and large people seem too concerned with killing their target to pay much attention to the conditions they’ve picked up or they blow their removal too early. I often marvel at how long conditions are allowed to tick on multiple opponents.
My point is it’s impossible to please everyone. I would say that A-Net has pleased more than they have displeased with this patch, so I would consider that a success for them. Again, I’ve already stated that I don’t particularly care for what they did but I can appreciate that most others are loving it.
Complaining at this point isn’t going to change anything. People will continue to kitten but it’s not like they are being forced to play the content. Also, I seriously doubt it slowed down their other development efforts considering they’ve already said it was a small group of people that worked on it.
I disagree. Letting Anet know that there are a bunch of us out there that don’t enjoy this type of content may lead them to consider approaching content with a bit more variety. Aside from the Living Story content, all of the patches so far have featured the “jumping” mechanic quite prominently. Personally I’d like to see something different the next time out, and I think this forum is the place to make that suggestion.
I have no problem with the number of threads out there congratulating Anet on a job well done despite the fact that I don’t enjoy the content. Perhaps we could be allowed to enjoy the same privilege of being allowed to voice our opinion?
For the record, I fit into the demographic the O.P. describes. I’m over 40, with kids and without much time to play during the day. But I really dislike this new content. I signed up for an MMO. Not a platformer.
Then don’t play it…. This is only a short-time event and a lot of people are getting a kick out of it. Nothing is stopping you from running other dungeons, spvp or wvw.
The funbox was fairly amusing to me for probably 30 minutes but I personally won’t spend much more time in it. I’m also not going to complain about it and say it was a waste of the dev’s time when obviously so many others are loving it.
And many others aren’t loving it. We don’t get to voice our opinion? The feedback for the most part has been fairly reasonable. Nobody is going on a hunger strike in protest. So what’s your point?
I’m sure that the guys who worked on the Super Adventure Box would’ve done a great job balancing the game. /sarcasm
Why not? You don’t think SAB required a game designer who had to create and manage the overall gameplay? Do you think that game designer is only proficient in designing platformers and has no skill in other types of gameplay? You don’t think the graphic designers and programmers who worked on SAB could have executed the direction of the game designer?
The employees used in the creation of the Super Adventure Box and the money used to pay them most certainly could have gone towards balancing the game.
For the record, I fit into the demographic the O.P. describes. I’m over 40, with kids and without much time to play during the day. But I really dislike this new content. I signed up for an MMO. Not a platformer.
The entire O.P. relies on the premise that anyone who doesn’t agree with your view of the game is a whiner.
I’m with the O.P.
The visual design is great, but the gameplay got old after about 10 minutes of jumping. I know I don’t have to play it, and I won’t. I just wish the Devs used the time to create traditional MMO content rather than platform based gameplay.
Kudos to Anet for trying something different. But the jumping is getting old. Every content patch aside from the “Living Story” stuff predominantly features “jumping” as a gameplay mechanic. It was fun at first… but enough.
Unless something were to change with underwater combat I’d have to say that I wouldn’t play an underwater map if I could avoid it. I hate having to do any of the underwater events now, a whole map may put me over the edge.
Forget about this Lauren chick, if she’s too defensive then that’s her problem. She should appreciate the necklace you bought for her.
I had the same problem today in the jumping puzzle and with the Tixx event. In both cases I only received a large present.
Would just like to say thanks to Hobbes. This thread allowed me to join the event last night after I couldn’t make it earlier in the day and I know it did the same for many others. You win the internets today my friend! Thanks so much!
Couldn’t agree more with O.P.
ArenaNet so far has not done a very good job of organically introducing new events and mechanics within the game. Personally I rely on guild-mates and 3rd party guides to give me the info I need and I think that’s a bit disappointing.
Every mission where I’m made to protect Trahearne is painful for me. I’ve never hated an NPC character more than this guy. Terrible voice acting (I swear he’s just reading this stuff for the first time) and he doesn’t seem to serve any purpose to the story that I couldn’t fill myself. Why am I following this guy?
