OK. I was able to fix this.
My router’s WAN DNS server settings has a built-in feature to block “malicious” (malware and phishing) sites which is supposedly maintained by Norton.
I disabled this and then chose to use Google Public DNS servers instead at IP addresses 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. That solved it.
This “Block malicious sites” feature on my router use to work just fine while launching the Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 clients. I’m not sure what changed, but it would seem the GW & GW2 IP addresses changed and/or they were black-listed by this Norton security service that is built into my router.
So if anyone else is having this issue, try changing your DNS server either on your router or PC if you don’t use a router/network firewall with DNS server settings.
Yes, starting a few days ago.
Both Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 clients on the few computers on my network that run them seem unable to connect to their server(s).
I’ve opened a ticket with support, including my “…GW2.exe” -diag text. Some of the needed ports seem to have consistently inconsistent connectivity issues. I’ve double checked my router and the settings for my firewalls to make sure they’re open. Besides which, these clients were connecting just fine up until a few days ago on multiple computers on my network, and my router wasn’t reset. Other various things that need internet connectivity on various ports are working just fine.
Wondering what the deal is, and hoping it can be resolved quickly.
Same problem here starting at least by this last weekend, Friday or Saturday (not sure which), 4/18/14 or 4/19/14.
Both Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 clients effectively have no internet connectivity in regard to the server(s) they’re trying to connect to.
Other games and internet connections are working fine. For me this is only an issue with the Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 clients and/or server(s) they’re trying to connect to which started “out of the blue” sometime roughly a few days ago.
At least I now know that I’m not the only one having this problem, therefor it seems more likely that it will get fixed sooner or later…
…
Just wanted to add that 2 other computers on my network are also unable to connect with both GW and GW2 clients. All of these computers were able to connect a few days ago (presumably, as one of them hasn’t been used for several days). Router settings haven’t changed.
My internet connection is fine in all other regards, including the servers I host locally and the crunching I do for BOINC.

It’s as if the game pauses momentarily when the camera view is moving around.
It’s always done this to some extent, but now it is even more noticeable and annoying, since I can run the game at higher FPS (100+, though I typically use VSync for 60), having gotten my second EVGA 680 FTW+ for SLI.
This doesn’t happen in other games.
System specs:
i7-3930K @ 4.6GHz
64GB quad channel RAM @ 1.6GHz
EVGA GeForce GTX 680 FTW+ (4GB GDDR5) w/backplate ×2 (SLI)
Windows 7 Pro SP1 64bit
Nvidia driver version 314.07 (and it has done this for probably at least the last 10 versions)
GW2 Max settings
