Ive been playing a mage and only a mage in all mmorpg’s since dura europes on bbs before people had internet way before wow came out
Gotta love it when people feel the need to tell us how long they’ve been playing video games, like it’s going to matter to anyone. LOL!
It’s a marker that anyone can use to point out something on the map.
SHFT+Left Click makes the red marker
SHFT+Hold and Drag Left Click enables you to draw on the map
It’s not specific to Gendarran Fields.
HTH
I’d like to have the option to have the skill greyed out if your target is out of range of our skill, other than that, missing the target because it’s moving, i’m ok with how it currently is.
“We have an entire element devoted to healing and water combo fields. Spec into a little healing power and profit.”
Even if you spec for max healing, with cleric’s gear and staff, the healing is nothing to write home about.
This is a death sentence for soloists, for a group it’s not so bad.
They make money from us buying gems and converting them to gold.
I don’t see them reducing the cost of waypoints.
Do I want them to? Definitely.
12 silver = 1200 copper, and as you level the money from rewards will get better, but not a ton better.
What’s a good level? I say craft whenever you have the mats or when you visit an area that has your crafting table.
Gather everything, whether you’re using it for your tradeskill or not, that way you can sell the stuff you don’t use on the Trading Post.
Break down only what you need for mats, vendor the rest and you shouldn’t have money issues for crafting.
Chef is the exception, that can get expensive to level up.
Edit: It’s also a good source of XP, so do it whenever you can.
Discoveries will give you tons of xp.

I run Fullscreen Windowed mode and I use dual monitors. Covers the whole screen.
No issues here.
Gotta be honest, I don’t think I’ve tried D/F.
Totally forgot about that weaponset and i’m level 76 LOL!
<runs off to get D/F>
There’s a lot of really bad ele’s out there making the rest of us look bad.
I’ve seen so many that run into dungeons using a staff (never use a staff in dungeons) that don’t even have another weapon to switch to.
Irony…. some people cannot see it.
Level 76 Ele here, teleports are 3 silver or more.
I don’t die often, and haven’t ran many dungeons, but I only have 50 silver to my name.
Have a ton of stuff on the TP, for minimal price, and nothing sells, I vendor all my stuff, and Still haven’t bought my level 60 book.
Teleport fees are ridiculous at this stage since money isn’t falling off the trees.
It would be nice if they were tweaked a little bit.
For me D/D is the most fun, but when running around doing events and stuff I just use staff.
S/D is ok, but it didn’t really appeal to me.
I’m talking for strictly PVE since I don’t pvp
What you might want to do is to try all combinations of weapons in PVE/leveling, just to get acquainted with all of the different abilities that they offer.
D/D is fun, S/D is fun also, Staff is underwhelming when leveling but it can still be effective.
Also make sure your gear stats complement your build so you can maximize your playstyle.
I started out with a Staff when I first made my toon, then at 18-ish used D/D until level 40-ish, then S/D until 55, and I’m now back to Staff just to keep myself fresh.
I’m currently lvl 70, and have leveled up solo the entire time.
There is, buy Lumps of Coal from the Artificer vendor, then you can make Steel Ingots.
Can I buy gold from them instead, its nearly half the price of the trading post? It just seems that nothing is being done about it as i see the same botters and spammers every day so can i use thier services and not get in trouble?
I dont want my account banned or anything, so thats why I am asking. I would like a reply from someone at anet so I will know FOR SURE yes or no.
Nope, you cannot.
No game that I know of allows players to buy from gold sellers.
Ive played several classes to 80 now, heavy, medium and light classes.
And the Elementalist is a freaking JOKE in PVE.Is this crap gonna get fixed or can i delete this joke class and free up a char slot ?
PVE for ELE isn’t hard.
Maybe it just doesn’t suit your playstyle?
Because all the traits help only 1 attunement. So it’s worthless to switch to another attunement since you’ll get more damage staying in one.
Better just stay in fire if you have 30 points in fire since you get +20% damage from 10% trait and 2x 5% on burning. No real reason to go to earth since you will just reduce your damage by doing so.
Ironic that the class that is supposed to be all about swapping attunement is… all about not swapping.
Water without water traits doesn’t help your team. It slows the fight as you will be dealing no damage. The heal without +healing is barely noticeable.
You couldn’t be more wrong.
Here’s my elementalist.
Nice looking gear! What level is that?
I guess it all boils down to what suits your playstyle the best.
Personally I’m loving my ELE, she’s level 57 and rarely ever dies, unless I get overzealous.
I use D/D and S/D depending on my mood, but finding that S/D is more fun for me.
Building the Ele and having the correct gear stats for your build is key, because if they don’t jive, you’re going to have issues.
an out of combat hotkey weapon swap would be ideal.

i7 950
GTX460SE
12gb RAM
2tb RAID 0
1920×1080 27" monitor.
850w gold Raidmax psu
will it help? yes.
I highly recommend saving up for a better computer though.
You can get a pretty decent mid ranged gaming pc for around $700-$800.
I’d go for the GTX460 for smooth gaming. You must also have a good Power Supply, minimal of 500w of True Rated PSU. 80+ Bronze of better.
I also have the GTX460SE.
It’s ran almost every game I’ve played so far with max settings at 1920×1080 resolution.
There have been a couple of games where I had to turn down some settings a tad, but overall it’s a great card for the money.
