No drops from Champions!

They are afraid of bots SO much that they simply deny any use of actually playing the game.

I wish they played their own game once in a blue moon…. to my disbelief it’s getting obvious they don’t see a reason to have decent loot for champions. They can probably check their stats – no one ever kills champions that are not in the way of anything useful. (sad i have to call champions useless)

I am frustrated and not finding this fun

I think that although they haven’t yet put any serious thought into PvP, at least the PvE portions should be polished. From the event so far, its clear that this wasn’t tested very well. Please don’t do another event like this, i feel almost embarrassed telling people about how great this would be.

It’s also clear that focus isn’t on fixing issues since launch (bugged events in Orr, Dungeon bugs, Skill bugs, etc..). I would understand if this was due to some priorities, but I don’t quite understand where those priorities are. Very confusing! I would love to promote the game more to my friends, but hard to give positives lately.

I’m impressed the servers survived!

I hope that the next zone isn’t just karka monsters (based on the event). I almost prefer the undead…

The events are up, but stuck…

Against De-promoting 'Holy Trinity'

I think they did a fantastic job realizing that dependency on the ‘trinity’ was unhealthy for casual players as ‘looking for healer’ was very common for groups. Without one, you could not play PvP. (recall GW1)

Unfortunatley, they took that to an extreme to (almost) prevent healing and upscale DPS so the game lost of a lot of strategy. Damage mitigation would have been very interesting, but its simply not a healthy ratio maintained between damage and damage mitigation right now.

Regen of HP and Degen of HP was also a really fun combat mechanic in GW1. This basically doesn’t exist anymore and i think the dev’s really did not like this with action oriented combat. I don’t know why they didn’t modify this and implement some form of it… (perhaps to avoid people looking at UI too much.. but that is almost a lazy solution in my opinion)

Balance wise, its very difficult to overlook the effects of what healing does to the game. If you added a dedicated healer, the game right now would be incredibly dependent on it for groups to be successful.

I would say, they did well to avoid this, but poorly followed through on their implementation.
(just play sPvP and check out what kind of mechanics replaced the holy trinity gameplay)

It’s 12PM PST. Anet is located in PST, its perfect for their convenience. I have my doubts about highest peak of users around that time – frankly my server is fairly empty on usual Sundays at that time.

In any case, splitting events is most likely the best alternative.

So... for those of us that work...

It’s very likely since Anet is located in the west coast – 12PM PST works well for them to start – right within business hours.

Ranger update

I have to say that although it’s disappointing that Rangers didn’t see much balance changes (much needed might i add), i think Anet did well to update the extremely poor underwater speargun. Considering that the new area is most likely coming with lots of underwater content, it’s quite nice having an alternative to the spear.

The counter argument would be that underwater combat is listless at times so this might be quick and easy changes that don’t need much consideration to balance. (I have yet to find a fun reason to do events underwater)
