Jesus, what a long statement. But I’ll feel your pain.
All I have to add is that this is a game. A game should make you happy to play and keep you from come back, again an again.
I don’t why Anet/NC soft not creat expansion instead they went on to expanded the living story if they focus on increasing revenue. I have to said, Anet/NC Soft has done very well of keeping players to continue to play their game. Of course they could better.
All the posting I have been reading are for individual interest. It is time that we think for the community. What the purpose of creating this game? Why we play this game?

Why not just take away the commander tag and let the true commander to rise and shine?
Each WvW ranks allows you do different thing like control the golem, tank, mobile arrow cart, mobile ram, etc.
Add in the nature effects like sand storm, snow storm, wind, rain, etc.
Make the players in WvW to work together to solve problem thru obstacle that cause by the Mother Nature. The enemy, monster, etc.
oh, I forgot camouflage.

World verse World (“WvW”)
To me, WvW is a school playground, no guild, no gang, no group, no isolation, no racism, etc.
But I was wrong, to date, WvW is more like Guild verse Guild. You get hater who hate you for thing you can do but they can’t. Commander with no heart to his/her Zerg. Avoid fight when they suppose to rally his/her to stand their ground.
In my option, the commander rank should be earned and not some thing you can buy for 100 golds.
I know you maybe thinking I’m crazy but the fact is the WvW that Anet created is way to far to call it WvW.
Anet, please take always the odds and let build a real WvW.
