“Gear progression is only an endgame if WoW was your first MMO.
My endgame is PvP with rewards to keep improving your character. they have WvW, now they just need the reward system. Im not talking about gear, im talking about stats increases, skills and abilities, chance to crit, hitpoints, ect….”
And whats the gear improves ? Length of ur hair and nails?
Can I has endgame in chess where I’d start with 4 queens because I’ve been playing for over 20 years?
Can I has endgame in golf where Tiger Woods starts with a handicap of +5 because he’s one of the best?
Can I has endgame in counter-strike source where I start every round with AWP because I played more than you?
Can I has endgame in DOTA where I start with 3000 gold because I played since aeon of strife?
Can I has endgame in football where Real Madrid has 30 players on the field and use hands because it’s the most successful club?
Or maybe we can actually make competitive games competitive because you’re a good player, not because you played longer. Thanks for not ruining GW2. We’re not playing all other MMOs because they have it wrong.

First of all after spending 150ish hours in 50 or so day on my acc ( getting the exotic set and wep i wanted , and i invis . thief take our full party down on his own ) i decided to take a brake couse i know this is how the game is ment to be played . After 2 weeks i checked the forum to see if there is something new . Same as 2 weeks ago every 3rd or 5th topic is about the same old same old "give us raids , give us trinity , bla bla bla ) . I just wanted to sum it up in 3 words " vertical gear progression " , couse obviously ppl dont want to say it directly , idk why , maybe couse they be labeled as “WOWfanboys” ( altho i never played wow yey ) . About the thief thing idk is that a bug or thats how he was ment to be played ( if so IMBA ) couse i won quite a few 2v1 eaven 3v1 with my engi , so that was a deal breaker for me . And u can see that i write "altho ANet told us " , i knew in what was i getting into when i bought the game , but the ppl who open those topics sure didnt .
What ppl mean by end game is vertical progression in gear… simple as that .
Someone who spent 500+hours will surely wants to 3-4 hit someone who spent 50h in the game . That’s how we learned MMORPGS are played , and we ware playing for the last years : get max lvl > grind best gear > pwn ppl with worst gear > massive ego boost > multiply e-kitten by amount of X . Altho ANet told us there will be no gear progession , ppl ware still hopeing there will be some kind of gear factor .Skins are great , but i want my gg awesome looking rifle to do a bit more dmg then some piece of wood that looks like rifle right? Altho ANet told us there will be no trinity , u see every second topic is ppl whine about getting the trinity back . Why ? COuse thats how we played MMORPG’s last 10 years .

Plain and simple = there is nothing to keep you doing it . The gear difference in other games is what kept you going . b4 you start calling me WOWfanboy i never played WOW ( just to make that clear ) but i ve played other MMORPG’s. Thats the only way we know how to play a game : get max lvl > farm > pwn n00bs .
i started alt couse i got bored from my main and guess what??? My enitre starting zone is empty. I’ ve seen like 6 player in total last 2 days… I cant lvl up becouse i cant finish the events solo ( at least half of em )
I m the only 1 who cant shake off the felling that this game is one big zergest? DE = zergfest , World Boss = zergfest , WvW = zergfest , and about sPvP i heavnt spend alot of time there , and when i do i usualy solo ( not with my guild ) so i wont judge it as zergfest altho the time i spend it is FFA , aka no1 gives a beep about the other .
So DE . DE have no teamwork mechanic what so ever , but what ever , they are ment to get lvl up not have fun , so i ll pass them .
World Boss aka Epic Events aka Zergfest . Thats it , not more , nothing less . I ve done the the dragon in sparky and the swamp thingy i dont know where it was …When u get 100 + ppl there is nothing fun about the event. All you have to do is spam ur skill #1 for 5 mins and get the epic lootz . GG . The only movment i have to do is when the dragon put out the bonewall ( woot i ll go inside – bam in your face dragon ) and when he shouts ( bam i press W and im infiring range again – bam in your face ).
Dungeon – only usefull advice i got inside dungeon is " stay away from the red circle " .
After u done a single path for more then 2 times – you are a god … There is nothing that can suprise you .
WvW – im on the best WvW guild in my server ( i think ) and the WvW is just a DPS race , nothign else . I ve never seen a group of 10 take a group of 20 in the open . That simply wont do .. About siege on Forts , yes there are few tactics , but if the enemy is have eaven half brain ( know where to put siege and after 3 days in wvw every1 will know where to put em ) and enought ppl , you can kiss you are sweet kitten goodbye…
Couse you deleted my post when i first write this , couse there was no suggestions > thus not belonging in this sub forum here are my suggestion :
DE: Make em more CO-OP . When u defend a bridge instead of 3 cents trying to kill it with one bomb , make them have siege eqiup. , and while you are defending ur NPC , try to build siege equip. as well for whom u have to bring em resources > meaning that 5 ppl would go gather em , 5 ppl would help speed up the build process , 5 ppl would defend and 5 will try take their trebs down. Another can be escort ( and u have quite alot of them in the zones ) , make them go have 3-4 diffrent paths , in one path NPCs can be burrowed by avalanche so player have to get shovels and dig em out , in the other path they can get poisoned and ppl have to gather herbs near them so they can heal em up . Give em 2 mins or so to what ever player have to do or the event will fail . Other thing : Chars have tanks ( we know that from PS ) , so make a event when one 1 have to drive the tank , 2-3 ppl mount the weps on the tank and defend from air and ground units . ETC ETC .
World Boss – on this one i ve spend most of the time so here is what i think . Make him have like 3-4 boiling points aka 75 % 50 % 25 % ( they dont have to be those , just saying ) . So at 75 % undead eng. or what ever spawn and create a force shield around him aka he is invulnerable . So now from somewhere near a convoy start to move to ur locataion carrying bombs do destroy the generators ( they can only be killed by bombs or whatever ) . That will make 1 group of ppl go and defend the convoy that will be atacked by massive undead army ( doesnt have to be undead , use ur imagination ) while other gorup will try to prevent the dragon from reaching the shore or destroying the cannons that will make the event fail ( yes put a fail mechanic so ppl accutualy care about doing the tasks at hand , and failing those will result in waste of ur time ) . At 50 % make him go hide underwater or up in the air . In that point nodes start to appear and ppl gather em to start build either submarine or air-ships ( seen in PS as well ) . So there is battle in the air or underwater , untill u get him to 25 % . When u get him to that points , all hell got unleashed. He start spawning alot of minions , breaths fire like crazy , trying to take out the cannons ( the fail mechanic at 75 % ) . At this points the most of the dmg should be done by the cannons , and not player skills ( player skill doing 20-30 dmg while cannons doings 8-10k ( or u do the math that will encourage ppl to defend the cannons instead of atacking the dragon them self) ) . Tadaam , u spent 30+ min in epic battle , and that should be rewarding . So make 4-5 different thing at each Boiling points and make them always at random > month will pass untill u have same battle with the dragon . TY
For dungeons and WvW , if i say anything u ll call me WoWfunboy , altho the only experience i have with that game is watching a friend play for 20 min on private server. TY hope this helps and positive feedback .
I used to play other mmorpg before this , Knight online . There was a chat window in the bottom corner , in the PvP zone , that listed the names of ppl killing and getting killed ,
ex: Person X has defeated Person Y .
Here couse we dont know the names of the oppsing faction i think would be enought to see exp: Person X has defated invader Y . So ppl would accutaly see who is doing the kills , like u have in SPvP . This game is all about prestige so that would give the “leet owner” some prestige i think . This should show the last hit before player is in downed stage like in SPvP . You already have it done , so i dont think it would be a problem to implement it WvW.
Am i the only one who feel there is lack of content in PvE ? DE are diffrent from other quest , but after doing 5 of them in 1 zone they pretty much get repetitive . Other big thing is lack of enemy diversity . I mean come on… If you go in jungle he is called "jungle lizard " , if u go in snow he is "snow lizard " , in desert he is "desert lizard " … come on…
