Ascended Giver’s weapons. Why aren’t they available in ascended?
If I have a single piece of a full set like Aetherblade Light Gloves but I transmuted over the rest of the set will I still receive the full set in my wardrobe?

Flamekissed Armor: 67.28g
Light Human Cultural T3 + 10 pack of trans crystals: 149.28g
1) State of conditions and condition cap

To further expand on Terrahero’s berserker / giver’s comparison, let’s look at crit damage. Crit dmg works similar to condition duration in that it provides a percent damage increase, but also means it doesn’t always provide that guaranteed increase because you’re not always landing crits. This further proves that there is no good reason the Giver’s stat should not be available in the ascended tier.
As of now, we are unable to select giver’s stat combo [Precision, Vitality, Condition Duration] on any ascended level weapon. At first we questioned if this was a bug or not, but I’ve received official word from ArenaNet that this is intended behavior. But since I wasn’t provided with a reason why, I can only speculate the reason ArenaNet decided not to add Giver’s stat to the ascended tier:
- Condition Duration
Exotic Giver’s weapons already come with 10% condition duration that may be considered borderline overpowered by many just because it provides a free 10% damage boost for any condition build out there (in theory). But let’s look at the current situation of Giver’s weapons:
- 10% condition duration does not actually mean 10% more damage for condition builds. It means UP TO 10% more damage for those builds, because condition duration on bleeding, burning, and poison will only work if the applied condition can tick for the next whole second (source: wiki).
Right now we are forced to choose between condition duration on our weapons or an infusion slot + stat boost. To many people, the condition duration is an important part of their build ; especially if they don’t trait into it in favor of other trait lines (For example, a 0/30/30/10/0 condition necro). But here’s my take on it:
- Giver’s stats should be available at the ascended level and stats, minus the condition duration – that should stay at 10% because I believe any more would be overdoing it.
As always, these are just suggestions and opinions are welcome in this thread!
Givers is one of those bugged stats yet to even work properly. At least your legendary will get it when ever its fixed, unlike the one time select exotics.
Actually, they were fixed in the March 26 Patch

As topic says, is this intended or a bug? You can’t select it from the legendary stat change window, ascended recipe, or ascended box.
