SMAA is better but distorts the UI. I find this method a compromise, with near zero performance cost. I understand what you’re saying about lost detail etc, and i know it’s just adding another layer upon layer…but it works.
Quick tip for removing some of the blur from the in-game anti-aliasing without using SMAA which distorts the UI.
1. Download SweetFX 1.3.3 from here – http://sweetfx.thelazy.net/
2. Install and add GW2.exe as a SweetFX profile.
3. Untick all options except for LumaSharpen.
Under “sharpen strength” option adjust this to clean up the FXAA blur, but not too much as to ruin the AA effect FXAA provides. I found 0.033 to be perfect on my setup.
