I dunno if this has been said, The only Nerf I think that is really needed is, The stealth mode finisher.
With my nerco, If I’m downed from a thief and they go into stealth, I just wait to die, I can’t do anything. Any other class I could attempt to fear away for a small chance to live.
No worries, the post is about replacing the current fast travel system with another one, adding more depth into WvW. More of a idea then anything with reasoning to back it up.
However no flaming intended with the last post I made, but having the ability to build a portable way point would be kinda neat. More expensive then a Treb, requiring protection, Not able to be built in side walls of tower/keep, Would be a good tool in the attackers/defenders tool kit for WvW as well.
Acelerion, you have a good point! People should be able get back in the fight quickly as possible. A new approach would be the Attackers should have the ability to build a way point to flood the location they wish to attack,
Now defenders and Attackers can quickly both be able to flood into the fight with full benefits.

WvW Way points, I hate them, My reasoning, Have you seen this chat message? “Everyone Spam Way Point X Now!” sometimes in CAPs
Now countless defenders drop what they are doing and start pouring into a keep to save it. Then when they die, they wait until the timer resets and Spam again. Then re spawn in the keep. I’ve been on both sides of this fence. I think it takes some fun out of defending. As there is very little risk in many cases.
It really takes the fun out of Attacking since the guys you just removed from battle came back to the party with full health ready to wreck the place.
On the BLs the invaders defend Camp X closest to there starting locations, easiest way to defend that? Drop what your doing, way point to starting location, and rush camp X. All this happens when you see the little white swords on the map. No scouting required in some cases.
some people like this, I don’t and feel it takes away some of the strategy of WvW simply because its more about numbers and floods when this happens.
I feel that things should be more about scouting, More about strategy. Less about do you think we can take the zerg x2, if yes maybe we can attack the keep.
Way Points need to be removed. However due to the size of the Maps and the fact we had way points in place since the start of WvW, Fast Travel needs to be left in somehow.
Here is one suggestion to make WvW a better place leaving a forum of fast travel in tack.
Remove the way points from the Maps. Replace Way Points with Asura Portals. The portals need to be accessed by running through them as a player and not just clicked on.
Access to the portals would be in each players starting location. The Portals would be upgrades needed to be activated in keeps in order to be used. Just point to Point 2 way Travel. Like city to city portal Travel in PvE.
Now we have to add a new Tech to WvW to prevent portal flooding from lemmings jumping from cliffs to die. for quicker access to the portal system.
Portal Damping Generators. They would disable the Portals until destroyed. After they are destroyed the portals would need X amount of time to be powered on and accessible. EMP like.
The Generators would be built the same way as Siege. With Blue Prints and about 60 or more Supply to build them. They would need to placed on a outside wall of the keep being attacked. This would balance out supply needed to build other siege when attacking.
That being said a group of 6 thieves could run around disabling all portals to all keeps. This would be a good thing. This would give people defending a keep something else to do, while making scouting the walls and areas very important.
I think this idea would help make scouting and strategy more important. Since currently one person needs to guard and say “inc 50 to location x here is timer count.” “10” “5” and “SPAM NOW”
I’ve played a fair amount of SC 2 and scouting and strategy is a huge part of that game. It a huge part of what makes SC2 fun. That game is not for everyone.
However this is GW2 and WvW should have the same style mechanics. Strategy should be huge. Sometimes it is simply about numbers, But the underdog should be able to win with Strategy in some cases. I’ve seen videos of 5 take on 20+, the 5 players won, were the other players bad or under leveled? does it matter strategy had a huge part of that regardless. We have commanders that lead. You don’t need to be the Strategy expert in order to follow along and play and have fun.
If your army is on one side of the map, and it cant get to the other side easily, it should be a problem! Not a “SPAM WAY POINT NOW!”
As GW2 WvW is getting more incentive and rewards in the future to motivate defending point I think this would be helpful.
