Feedback on Revenant:

Hammer weapon clearly outdid mace/axe combo for the boss fight but I think this is due to the nature of the boss. Hammer ability 1 had a 1200 range which is Ok but ability 2 should be nerfed to 900. It has a lot of damage and virtually no cooldown. I suspect we could have killed the boss from far away by just spamming this ability. 3 and 5 are nice but I feel they are too similar to each other, hopefully they will be changed slightly (like maybe 3 turned into a cone AOE with much smaller range than 2). Wall on ability 4 looked nice too but this wasn’t tested at all by mobs in beta.

Mace/Axe combo was bad for this test but it looks really good for dungeons.
Mace 2 followed by 3(almost no cooldowns so we can spam this) gives almost permanent might stacks on its own and this could be too powerful in all the stackathon dungeons. Ability 4 with axe feels powerful and great to execute but 5 seems pointless in pve because mobs were rarely near the rift to be effected by it (not to mention all the bosses in game have stability up). Given its cc nature more testing is needed for its PVP effectiveness but I would like it changed atleast for PVE.

Stance Feedback:

Jali’s feels powerful and very effective for bossfights. But I want the ability 9 changed. It costs way too much energy to keep it up for even a small duration. Given revenant is more powerful constantly switching and spending small amounts of energy on all kinds of abilities, it seems out of place and I never saw it being used by anyone around me. Hopefully it will be redesigned to be more bursty at a lower cost . Jali’s elite seemed too spammable and probably deserves a cost increase.

The demon stance seemed very weak but again i suspect it will shine more in pvp. Conditions generally did nothing to the boss so it seemed useless.

Swapping stances gave almost limitless healing ability and this is something that should be changed. I was swapping to demon stance just to heal and use abilty 7 to negate all ongoing condition effects before going back to Jali.

Environment Feedback:

Graphically the game looked great without any lag or performance issues. The new fire effect looked good too and I did notice they cost less on my GPU to render on highest settings. Hopefully Anet brings this to all the boss fights. I have crashed atleast 50 times on Teq because of the poison aoe effect overloading by GPU (at lowest possible settings).

Environment looked great too but hopefully the constant “fall to death” valleys at every 100 yards is only for a very few maps. Gliding around is great but I want to feel the world to be big instead of constantly being stopped by some unpassable environment. Anet tried the same in drytop and I could not play the map for more than a couple of weeks (got my achieves and never been back there but I do like to go back and farm in SW). I would like vertical climbing in the game but there should be an explorable map down below too. So my feedback would be not to do more 3D Mario worlds in the new expansion. For me GW2 is about killing stuff, not to take part in a giant Jumping Puzzle.

Thanks for reading and letting me participate. I enjoyed the new content (and improvement to old systems) but I really hope some bigger and more expansive maps are present in the game.

Incredibly sad this option isn’t being provided to the loyal old players.

I’m quite sure that loyal players would not hesistate to buy the expansion for real money.

I am sure many would. Its about denying an option that should exist cause it exists for everything else that in the gem store. Anet wants the gold farmers there to keep the prices high but wont give the option that many old players would want.

Incredibly sad this option isn’t being provided to the loyal old players. I really hope they provide some option via the gem store even if for an incredibly high price.

Anet should surely know people who keep buying gems with gold keep the conversion rate high forcing many others to spend real money in the gem store. So in this way they are supporting the game throughout not just during expansion release. Anet revenues from the gem store are much more important and higher than box prices of their expansion and games.

And then cry big time when Eternity gets further upgraded to something even more cool. You would be surprised how many would just keep their eternity. Someone capable of crafting eternity doesn’t give too much about missed gold.

No LS content cannot be done in its exact form after it goes away. This is to keep players from leaving the game for long periods.

But Anet does release some of it in other permanent content. Many LS dungeons have come back as fractals(I am pretty sure the final fight with scarlet will come back as a fractal later this year). EOTM is a new WVW map, Tequatl and Jungle wurm, etc. I think roughly 50% of the playable content has been re-added in some kind of form.

  • Will we get due compensation for all the extra gem store armor we have bought. I have 6 duplicate sets (2 Viper armor so one Dup set there, etc). So 36 Extra pieces. I suggest giving 1 Transmutation charge per duplicate piece. I am sure its easy enough to program something to detect the duplicates. (Already done for duplicate dyes)
  • Unlocking “dungeon reward route” in PVP by doing the dungeon’s Story mode in PVE. Can a Dev confirm this is Account bound. Again I have multiple Alts and I don’t want to do Story on each and everyone again to get the reward track unlocked for that character in PVP.
  • Ascended Armor and weapons are now going account bound. But most of mine are transmuted on gem store armor, fractal skins, etc. Will they become account bound in their current look? Or will only vanilla Ascended items become account bound (keeping the transmuted soulbound)
  • Will Legendary Receipes change after April 15th update in any way. If so which legendary etc. I already know about the UnID dye change for bifrost but are there any more especially with regards to Eternity.
  • Any chance the individual pieces of town clothes (like boxing gloves) that would become tonic (still not sure how this works but I know we cant wear most of it in combat) become pieces of armor skin instead. They can be assigned to a particular type of armor (eg: boxing gloves would be heavy armor piece).

How does this work with ascended armour transmutated with cultural skins?

Exactly my question. They didn’t answer anything about all the transmuted ascended equipment. Generally speaking game sees it as the transmuted item (like fractal ascended sword will be seen as fractal sword with pink stats) so I think they will remain soulbound.

Q: Transmuted Ascended Equipment will become account bound too?
Will all my transmuted ascended equipment become account bound after the feature pack release. Currently almost all of mine (same stuff crafted multiple times ) is transmuted onto fractal and gem store skins. Will they look the same and become account bound?

Account bound Legendaries are welcome but I think Anet overshot it with making ascended equipment account bound too. They are not that hard to obtain especially since they drop as random loot too. Too much casual is not good IMO.

But you know what, I’m still happy with these changes. Kitten to all these people who exclaim “What if I bought Flame and frost kits for all my characters! Why should these filthy casuals have access to the same things I worked hard to do?”

Yah these folks dont know account bound legendaries and dyes are the most demanded things for the last year (as far as looks go). Anet dares to give that and predictably someone will complain the other way.

If you craft Eternity, and sell it, you will still have Twilight, Sunrise, Dusk and Dawn skins……

Let that sink in for a bit.

Yes i think you can sell Eternity but you wont get it in the wardrobe. Act of Soulbinding or salvaging are the only way of filling your wardrobe. (otherwise everyone will just flip all the legendary skins off TP like they do with minis)

Does this mean that precursors that are used will always be available? From that does that mean that you never have to buy another precursor again if you wanted to make a new legendary?

No you will only get skins of the items you have unlocked. So if you have twilight you can get its appearance on any other GS. Crafting another legendary would require a new precursor.

I know the Wardrobe blog post said you will get all the progression skins along with the final one but given Eternity is such a unique skin in the game, I wanted to confirm whether we will get Sunrise and Twilight as skins too along with Eternity.

Also will crafting Eternity remain the same after April 15th patch?

I am currently sitting on Sunrise and Twilight and will make one only if we get the previous skins.
