Was in a pvp match several minutes ago. From the beginning of the match I was lagging and the other team received a dc not even a minute in. A couple minutes in I had a dc; I get back into the game to find the other team had 4 players absent at that point. I then received another dc and was unable to reenter the game. Was planning on doing the tournament starting in a few minutes, but after this, will probably pass (if I can even get back into the game properly). I hope anet takes care of whatever is causing this problem throughout the game soon.
So, as it currently stands, if you get dc’ed from a ranked PvP match you face heavy penalties. Even if you’re gone for no more than a couple minutes you deal with a dishonor timeout. Furthermore, even if you are part of the winning team, you get dealt a loss for ranked PvP. The penalties I feel should be punishing those who “rage quit”, not those who have a freak incident occur, and are kept out of the game for a few minutes at most. The main difference between those who rage quit and those who get dc’ed are that rage quitters don’t seek to reenter the match.
I’d like to propose a change to where the dishonor timeout and automatic match loss penalty is nullified should the player 1) spend more than two minutes in a match (since no match will end in under two minutes) and also 2) is present in the match at the end.
How does everyone else feel about such changes to the current PvP penalty system? Do you feel it’s fine as is? Do you agree that changes should occur, but not as I’m suggesting? Also, is what I’m suggesting just not possible to do coding wise?
Actually, in case of a draw, the team of the player with the highest personal score wins. In case top player of each team ties, it looks at the 2nd highest, etc…
I haven’t tested the case where all players tie, but I believe that in that case Red team wins.
Actually it takes the points of the whole team, not just from 1. So it is the sum, not just 1 player. So nuffin to do with red/blue whatever.
Perhaps. I was on team blue, and though I don’t remember for sure, I think the other team had greater point count combined and separate. Wish I had screen shot that as well. I gathered that everyone on both teams had received one pip from the conversation that unfolded after the draw. Not sure whether the red team’s history displayed match as a “Victory” as well, though.
It can and did just happen, it is not a myth. Both teams get a win in the case of a draw. In the records it displays as “500 – 500 Victory”.
