I for one would jump with joy if I could use a mainhand mace as a dps guardian/warrior. Granted, there will always be those one or two options that are deemed superior, but a little variety would be welcome.
This belongs in the suggestions forum, but I do agree completely.
I thought I was going crazy last night, my grenade kit kept switching off without me pressing the button for it.
So yeah, confirming this as well.
Another patch gone by with no fix or mention of this.
Can we at least get some kind of response here?
I sent a petition about this a few months back and was told to just check the forums. Eventually we did get the response that Unyielding Shadow quoted, but after all this time it still isn’t working properly.
Please ArenaNet, fix this. It may seem like a very minor issue, but for those of us playing on less than desirable resolutions, small UI would be very handy. Since we can barely read the trading post with the small UI, it really isn’t a good option.
To me this seems like it would be very simple to fix, though I fully admit that my knowledge of this sort of thing is limited at best. Is this bug some sort of hardcoded thing that is difficult to fix?
SweetFX by default uses SMAA, so it will lower your performance by a small amount. Back when I played around with it I found that it hurt my performance much less than the ingame FXAA option however. You can always tweak the settings in the ini file to enable or disable the SMAA, as well as various other things SweetFX has, like the vibrance, HDR, saturation, etc. It does make a pretty noticeable difference in the beauty of the game, though I’m also not a fan of that much saturation from the linked image.
Also as far as I know it isn’t against the TOS to use SMAA/FXAA injectors like these. They only slightly change the look of the game, hopefully for the better. They do not give an advantage to the player in any way whatsoever.
Whats stopping me from WvWvW…
Laughably miniscule rewards, player zergs are the definition of ‘not fun’, oh and lets not forget the biggest issue of all, player culling. Its bad enough to have a few thieves appear out of nowhere and gank you, but having an entire zerg appear out of nowhere is simply disheartening.
For anyone with a quadcore, have you tried setting GW2 to run only on cores 1-3 (ie disable it from running on core 0)?
What exactly is this supposed to accomplish?
I tried it and noticed no changes in performance whatsoever, neither positive or negative.
Hopefully, Anet’s response isn’t “well, this just shows that Scepter#1 needs to be nerfed”.
I wouldn’t get your hopes up. Anet’s actions, or lack thereof, clearly show how little they truly care.
1 Hand sword / Shield Crit type. Is it a viable build for PVE/PVP/WV3?

The beauty of the 1H sword is that its auto attack hits 5 times. Thats a guaranteed proc of Virtue of Justice every single auto attack chain. Grab a focus and you’ll have plenty of blinds and blocks to keep yourself alive as well.
Whirling axe is indeed great, but he didn’t say he was using axe offhand, only main hand.
His GS build seems built for more dps, so each hit will do more damage. Since mobs die so ridiculously fast in zergs, fewer harder hits are preferred over the axes multiple slightly weaker auto attack hits. But yeah, as I said neither weapon would be my choice.
Judging from those two trait build, the GS will obviously do much more damage and tag mobs easier. To be honest, neither weapon is what I usually use for tagging mobs while following the zerg, longbow gives me much better results for that.
Axes are perfectly viable though, I’m a big fan of doing a crit based axe build similar to most GS builds. I leveled up to about level 50 with dual axes, then switched to axe/horn after that.
