Crafting in GW2 has always been the same, it was designed as nothing more than a money sink for the main game and the devs could care less that there is a whole community that want crafting worked on. This is how it launched and how it has stayed, if you want devs who actively support crafting find another game.

Why do people whine so much about thieves in SPVP

Shukran, or you could act like an adult and just ignore the pm and accept it for what it is. Why add insult to injury when some one rages at having been beat, only children go running to teacher after hitting someone else in the face.

If you feel the need to police the game, police the game, don’t misuse the report system for your own entertainment, nor encourage others to do the same, as that is also reportable behaviour.

I am the same, and as Firefox is my browser of choice its pissing me off, I have reported the error to firefox support, but frankly anet should have tested login and forum behaviour with Firefox before launch.

Anti-farm code does exist for Fine Crafting Materials

what would be the point of the trading post if you could efficiently farm everything you need?

try “trading” for what you need instead of farming it all?

Fine in theory, falls apart in practice. Because there is a shortfall of fine items in the economy, crafted items sell for a fraction of the cost of the mats used to produce them, leaving anyone who wants to make a profit through crafting kitten out of luck.

Why I think that crafting is broken

It seems many fail at reading comprehension, that, or some are simply in too much of a hurry to post “your doing it wrong” (*s) that they ignore the real issue.

This is not about levelling crafting by zooming through with discoveries, ok, got it? We all know we can use discoveries to level crafting, its not rocket science, despite how smart it makes you feel to tell others they are wrong.

This game, we were told, we would be ale to craft our gear as we go, because we can have two crafting professions that means weapons AND armour for many, and level our crafting in line with our adventure level doing just that, and ONLY that, ok, not too hard a concept to grasp?

We want to craft level appropriate gear, with stats that are useful to our char. Crafting items with five or six useless stats that are no good to us, using up our mats is the issue; it means in order to make complete sets of gear as you level, you end up having to grind mats, something areanet claimed would NOT be required.

Players were also told they could level by using crafting, and ONLY crafting, it’s clear that is more horsekitten, anet clearly failed to understand their own economy. Because of the shortfall in the availability of fine mats, crafted items sell for less than it costs to produce them; this would leave pure crafters in a financial deficit, and in the absence of credit loans, not viable at all.

The only players that should need to buy mats through trade posts, are dedicated crafters that sell crafted goods in bulk for profit, and do not use game time to hunt for their own mats; that is simply not possible at present, despite the claims it would be.

Two weeks and kids already cry “nerf plox”?
Well, there’s WoW for that. Go rul0r there.

At the launch of any game, there are always balance problems, its not hard to figure out they will be duly commented on. Its a simple concept, and should be obvious to those with even the lowest IQ.

LMFAO, why is it, whenever anyone is playing one of the op classes, they tell others they are not playing their own class properly, l2p, and other bullkitten.

NEWSFLASH no combat in GW2 is hard, hell I have yet to find a single mmo that could be considered challenging or diffcult, GW 2 has an extremely simplistic combat system, there are no hidden rotations only 1% of the community can figure out, there are no builds requiring the sacrifice of virgins and chickens.

For those that really are challenged , there are always fan sites telling them how to play their class; for everyone else there is common sense, and most mmo gamers will arrive at the optimum build fairly quickly, it really is not hard.

There are classes that are stronger in pvp, some can be too strong, currently they are warrior and thief (incidentally thief complaints about being weak are pve not pvp, where they are not so hot with multiple en).

This lack of balance happens in every mmo when they are released, and hopefully, the developers are on the ball data mining and watching relative class balance and can change those mechanics that cause issue.

Further, in a class based system, there should never, ever, be a single class that can handle all other classes equally; there should always be a counter to your class. Such as the whine about guardian, melee only builds should be avoiding guardians, you burn them down using ranged abilities, ele’s are perfect; if he is hunkered down the whole time, he is effectively out of the fight.

Stop the Butter and Chocolate

I opened 25 loot bags and got 46 sticks of butter out of it. If I had gotten 46 cloth/leather or fine materials. I would have been so happy…

You think chefs are not happy with the current drops? Of course I am being a little flippant, but seriously, chefs require far more mats than other crafts, sure its excessive atm, and I am certain some of that butter is supposed to be other items used for cooking, or something else entirely.

Anet have been very quick at fixing drop rate issues, have a little patience, I am sure it will be sorted within a few days.

I made a similar post about this over on reddit during early access, and all the fan boys jumped all over it saying there was no problem with crafting/harvesting.

I even had one * suggest I was doing it wrong, how the hell can you farm incorrectly with a random drop rate. He was likely one of those using exploits to gain excessive mats from vendor items before it was patched. Even the brady guide states its not really possible to level crafting at the same pace as your adventure level with your first char. For those who cannot understand the difference, its not about crafting level, yes, we all know finding a new recipe will jump crafting a few levels, but recipes with stats you have no need of are useless for gearing up.

It really does need to be sorted, telling ppl to buy mats from the ah should not really be needed unless you are making items for sale. I have even had ppl suggest I should buy gems with the express purpose of selling them for credits so I can buy mats, that’s simply ludicrous.

The simplest and most obvious change would be to reduce the number of fine items required per craft at lower to mid levels, 8 is simply laughable for low level junk replaced in a couple of hours of adventuring. Having items that require 25 for level 20 30 gear is taking thekitten (yes they are out there keep an eye on karma vendor recipes), sure, by all means the highest levels of gear should have higher mat req’s, assuming they are as good as equipment gained through other means.

Currently if you try and craft armour and weapons simultaneously you will be reduced to grinding for hours just to gear up, which is not only boring, it is ridiculous, more so, given that better gear also requires you spend karma.
