Jynx is still looking for folks to join us in doing various fancy things. Some things we do are not all that fancy, but we look fancy. Why? Fashion. Please ask yourself the following questions?
- Do you like the idea of running headlong into sketchy odds with the goal of ruining the day of the enemy?
- Do you like the concept of keeping the enemies of The Pass guessing?
- Do you like reading? There are small novels on our website. Walls of text are a thing for us. Reading is good for you. READ A BOOK!
- Do you like smatterings of Role Playing (rated pg) and PvE with your PvP? (Some of us do PvE pretty hard at times. <Cries> :forever alone: )
- Do you have any interest in Guild v/s Guild (GvG) organized fights?
- Do you like fashion?
- Do you like Fire?
- Are you willing to use and listen in (at least) on Teamspeak? Microphones are optional, but we do have a discussion about that too on our website.
- Are you willing to tweak your builds for team play? (We can help you out with gearing.) I know this is an issue for some. I suffer from “but I LIKE my current build” at times. I’ll tell you, nothing makes you reconsider that one like getting facerolled on even terms a few times.
- Are you up late nights EST? (7pm EST – 3am EST)
- Are you still reading? Yes? Good. Reading is good for you.
If you answered “yes” to some or all of those questions, you should consider joining Jynx as we do stuff. Contact a member to answer any important questions you might have today!

Multiple crashes over several days here.
I have uploaded the crash data when the window pops up. It happens typically in Timberline Falls and Bloodtide Coast for me.
I can get a hint that the client is about to barf because I’ll see what looks like a lag spike a little before it happens. Maybe one or two pauses in the game and everything catches up and appears normal. The client crashes soon after that. I’m only seeing this in PvE zones. I can WvW a good chunk of the day (3+hrs) and experience no problems along this line. Drivers are current, nor has there been any recent hardware/software changes to my machine.
System specs — Also should be in the attachment — AMD FX8350; Radeon7970 Catalyst 14.4; 16GB RAM ; Windows 7 64-bit SP1
If you are familiar with Kalkz, you will realize that this is actually a seal of approval.
I’ve been a BP native since head start and only recently have moved from PVE land to WVW. There are many good groups with good players in them.
On BP I like to joke and say, “What’s a queue?” because even on reset night only 1 of 4 maps may have a queue and only during EST prime time and the queue is typically less than 15 people.
We also have open server runs organized by one of our residents and each week a new guest driver is there to lead us in battle.
There is a good variety of WvW guilds on BP. Some are small. Some are large. Some are well organized. Some of them just show up to have fun. For the most part, we get along fairly well.
BP has personality. This ranges from the level headed Martin Firestorm to the madness that is Warmaster Gibbon to the somewhat intelligible siege master Monkey Shines. ( <3 ya Monkey. )
So come on over to The Pass where the yaks are fluffy, the queues barely exist, and enemies are presented with muffins(*).
(*) Muffins are actually hot fiery death. No muffins are actually presented to enemy players unless they opt to forfeit their Citadel to us and the lovely hand made by Quaggans postcards contained within.
I had — or thought I had — this issue as well. I was cruising through the structured PvP area and decided to talk to Tixx. He asks if you want your present, and of course you say “yes! gimmie!”. I then received nothing, but I figured it was mailed or I missed the inventory addition and moved on to the Lion’s Arch overflow.
Then I realize I didn’t get anything and I became concerned. Did I get something and not see it? Is it a real bug in the sPvP Tixx? My attempts to verify were spotty, my guild was quiet and the map chat was busy looking for groups. I tried talking to Tixx in Lion’s Arch and tried the chest there as well with no positive results.
So I submitted a bug report and a screenshot of my character’s inventory through the in game support panel. (You don’t get a ticket # from that form of submission so I can’t say anything meaningful there.) I then proceed back to my normal mode of play. On the way back I go through the sPvP zone again and I decide to check with Tixx and the nearby chest again. This time, I do get something from the chest. It was all PvP related, but I did eventually receive something. My loot was a decorative PvP only backpack, and 6 tonics that would change what my finisher would look like for 30 minutes. So, it looks like in my case that I needed to recheck the chest in sPvP land.
I’d say to disregard my bug report, but I can’t. (no ticket # issued through the client)
I’m not sure if this was quietly fixed or more likely in this case I was an idiot and missed searching the chest.
Just a couple of things that I thought would be “nice to have” at some point in the life of the game.
What might make a nice compromise would be to unlock “postcards” of completed vistas. Implementation could be a lovely prerendered screenshot, an artist’s rendition of the area, or a merging of the two. You could even add story fluff or artist notes on the back of the ‘postcard’ to make the content all the more interesting.
Sure, the “easy” solution would be to teleport to a waypoint in that area and make a decision from there, but my playstyle tends towards me being cheap and my attention span is roughly zero. Why teleport when I can leg it, and who knows what I’ll find along the way. It’s entirely possible I won’t even wind up in the target zone.
This wishlist item is to simply add a checkbox option under controls that would allow for the mouse to aim my character as if I was holding down the right mouse button. While I’m sure there will be members eager to inform me to ‘learn how to play the right way’, I’m not so sure there is a “right” way. The method works for me overall, it’s just silly that I have to spend 80%+ of my time in game holding down a button so I don’t get completely turned around.
That’s it! Thanks.
