I lost 2 “please return this – my inventory is full” letters full with rares I send to my girlfriend. She returned them (I saw them in my inbox). After the patch they were both gone.
Today I had the same bug again (luckily only with a recipe – I dont send valuable stuff at the moment). This time it happened right before my eyes, so now I am very sure what caused it:
I switched through storage characters and everyone of them received that “you have a new purse” mail -> my inbox went to 12/10 -> 2 letters were overwritten and gone when I deleted mails (8/10).
I hope this wont happened again in the future, because it was totaly unneeded to get the “you have a new purse” mail for every single character! Loosing rare items (or for some people worse) makes it even more uncalled for!
P.S.: Thanks for the purse anyway! I don’t want to sound too harsh. There are so many great features comming up this year!!

Yepp, that was exactly was I was refering to. In my opinion the laurel update tackles all sides of legendary weapons simultaneously – and those boxes will flush a lot more rares and exotics into the game than before (I am talking about the total user base, not an individual).
Also Anet has shown (boxes→precurser; karma-chests→lodestones; laurel bags→t6 mats; drop rate moldy bags→t6 mats), that they are not happy about the state-of-the-art with legendaries.
So if all these measure I wrote about shouldn’t have any effect in half a year or so, there will be most certainly another update dealing with it.
Ok, new update → just PERFECT !
If you consider the total player base we get a huge additional amount of rares and exotics (and thus precursor) through the dailys – by just playing and enjoying the game!
Also the new system attacks the current prices for t6 mats and lodestones by changig the droprate (t6-moldy bags) and adding ways to acquire them (lodestones).
Since it adresses ALL sides of the problems simultaneosly, we will see improvement for all those problems addressed here (see pre-patch post above). All the changes will add up and making the one of the endgame goals more gameplay and less credit card.
And also the developers managed to find a solution that will not replace one problem with another.
Clever and well done anet !
I dont like the disbalance between skill/gameplay and “just money”.
I personaly compare legendaries with the “god walking among mere mortals” in GW1. The huge difference is that for that title ingame gold helped only a tiny bit (Sugar/Alc/Party/Id Title) and real currency money didnt help at all – but the biggest part was GAMEPLAY (explorer, elite skills, missions, vanquisher, etc. etc. etc.)
Now its only a tiny part gameplay (dungeon tokens) and the rest is all about money – even real currency.
So keeping the money money money part but making the precursor obtainable through pure gameplay where money doesnt help you at all would be a way to restore the balance.
