Warriors counter Guardian point control. And Guardian point control only really matters on 1 of the nine points in tPvP, the clock tower.
Immobilize is the only way to currently counter Stability. Stability itself is very strong, and with no way to counter it everyone will be requires to take stability this removing any need or use for CC, meaning everything turns into more of a zerg-rush DPS blitz than it already is. No thank you, immobilize is fine, especially since most immobilize is hard to land.
Elementalists are actually fairly weak in terms of actual control. Warriors have a lot of hard control and stability, which are extremely useful in stomping, preventing stomping, ressing, and preventing ressing.
They also counter Gaurdian point control.
Yeah we can use all that, but can’t do much when you have to use more important signets huh
What signets are you talking about? Unless it’s the signet of Doylak Signet? Or Signet or Rage which you should only take when you’re not on the Battle of Kylo and you need to counter Gaurdians.
No class, except mesmers, get to do crazy damage and have good defense. There are good builds out there besides 1h blades or crazy CC Hammer, Mace/shield specs. You have to be able to do damage, and the durability you can get isn’t worth the damage you can do. Control the fight and stay alive through CC.

Moa is a bad skill because if they aren’t slotting time warp the Mesmer is BAAADDDD and you should beat them anyway.
Yet in these forums people seem to feel that the Warrior is doing very well in pvp (though I’ve only seen posts regarding sPvp, not tPvp)
that’s it right there. a lot of builds seem to do well in 8’s because it’s more zerg friendly. anything and everything can work in WvW. when it comes to 5’s where people need the ability to either 1v1 or bunker a point reliably, warrior only has greatsword for the former and nothing for the latter. with a hundred tournament games under my warrior, the vast majority was as greatsword because it can reliably 1v1. few as hammer bunker but i drop like a sack of bricks. or i can go on my mes and bunker a point for half the match against 1 or 2 if the classes don’t counter mes.
I have some 70 tourny games as my warrior with a 80% win rate, no games as a hundred blades. I will agree that their 1v1 is weaker.
Guildwars2guru is an awful, awful community. Most of them have very little idea what they’re talking about. I had to stop going to that forum because it just made me angry. Warrior is strong in different ways. As far as I know they are also the only counter to that cheezy Gaurdian knock-off spec in the battle of Kyhlo.
