Guild Wars 2

I’m currently R51 in the game and have been playing since release (I would be much higher but I took a break for about 4 months.) Since then I have switched from playing mesmer, to ele, and then to engi, but most recently I have finally sat down and stuck to Ele as my main class. I am one of the few players who still run bunker staff ele but have consistently preformed well with it even before the buffs. I am willing to change to what a team needs as I have played every ele build there as.

I’m looking for a team in NA that is dedicated to Spvp and strives to become a top competitive team in gw2. I’m not looking for a casual gaming team, I’m in it to win it and want other people who feel the same. That being said, I also want people to be understanding and cooperative. This is a team game and as such a team needs to be able to work together under pressure and still perform well. Raging is kills teams, constructive criticism improves them, there is a difference.

My play time avalibilty is between 10pm central time to 4am central time. However, on Wensdays, Sundays and sometimes other days, depending on work schedule, I am free all day long. I’m fine with having to try out if need be. I’ve been streaming staff elementalist play for a while now but I’ve been noticing that more people are asking about staff ele builds and playstyles now days. I don’t know if it has to do with the d/d or s/d weaponset dominance that is currently in the meta that people want to get away from but either way I like it. I have stuck to staff ele through the nerfs and everything and still prefer it over s/d or d/d. I play a staff ele bunker/ team support which in my opinion has more more utility to offer in teamfights than d/d or s/d.

I’ve posted here a few weeks ago about looking for a necromancer and the good news is we found one. However, we lost our mesmer for failure to make practice. This post is intended to hopefully fill our 5th slot as we currently have 4 core members.

We are looking for someone that is rank 35+ and is well versed in the roles a mesmer plays. We need a mesmer that knows the ins and outs of the class and knows timing’s and rotations of skills. Basically, we need a mesmer that can perform at a high level of play rather than just mid level. (Must know more than just the basics)

The times that we practice at are problematic for a lot of people but they are they times that work best with our current roaster. The player must be available from 10pm – 2am central time, or possibly later if need be. We are very serious about practice times and don’t like to waste our time so timely attendance is a must.

Please note, being a part of this team will act like a second job. We practice with each-other around 25-30 hours a week. This is not a team for casual players as we aren’t interested in just having fun. We hope to compete in high end tournaments so we need a players who want that as well.

Please elaborate on how that information is going to aid me with my current situation Gaile. I know how to get to The Hall of Monuments in both games I’ve probably been there more times than you have in both games, no offense. The issue is even after linking my Guild Wars account to my Guild Wars 2 account Guild Wars 2 isn’t recognizing it for some reason.

I don’t have Guild Wars installed on this computer because I didn’t see a reason to since Guild Wars 2 came out.

I should have posted this a long time ago but never got around to it. I was an avid player of Guild Wars. I bought every expansion and played through every expansion. I of course added all of my accomplishments to The Hall of Monuments in guild wars.

The problem I am having is I CANNOT RECEIVE MY REWARDS FROM HALL OF MONUMENTS! I got the Hall of Monuments stone and teleported there. I talked to the stupid historian and all he tells me is “Heros once strode here I see the same glory in your eyes”…… I WAS ONE OF THOSE HEROS!! Don’t even tell me this BS. I played Guild Wars for 5 years and now I have nothing to show for it!!!?

Yes I linked my accounts, yes I had my achievements logged into the hall of Monuments in gw1. One easy way to tell is that when I click Hall of Monuments tab on this website and type in my old GW1 characters name “I Am Overrated” It shows my accomplishments.

Fix this, seriously ANET this is on your end not mine. I have done everything I was supposed to do and have not been able to claim any of my rewards.

Our team currently has 4 solid players on it who are all committed to playing their best and striving to improve. We just need a 5th players who complements our team and shares the same aspirations that we do.

I was going to go all out in this game and shoot to be a straight PvP player but there is no incentive to be a PvP player in this game. You can be a WvW player or PvE player but if you are a PvP player you are neglected and forgotten.

It wasnt hard Anet, it really wasnt. All you had to do was make a game just like GW1 with some minor changes and innovations, but keeping all the principles the same. If you have read this thread you would see that a majority of people loved the PvP in GW1. It was original, fun, rewarding, and competitive!!! The PvP now? What, I capture points and fight every once and a while for a minute or two? Seriously, in the current PvP you spend more time sitting on a point or running to a point than you actually do PvPing. In GW1 it was quite literally a constant back and forth battle (given the other team was at the same skill level) of epic proportions where players were forced to FIGHT in order to win a game, not run around and capture points…

Anet, your game will not be an Esport with its current PvP format. People don’t enjoy playing it much less watching it. The top GW2 PvP streamers have at most 200 viewers. That says something when in other games like SC2 or LoL the top streamers have close 5k or more. People who are hardly known in those games get numbers that top PvP streamers in GW2 dream of having. That right there, indicates this games PvP isn’t entertaining to watch.

Anet, do something now or you’re going to miss your chance.

Did you play GW1 PvP? I mean did you seriously take time and play it because it was by far the best PvP experience I have ever had in an RPG. At least while it lasted.

Give us support in GW1 so we can go back to a game where PvP was great and original as there is nothing original about GW2.

I’ll start out by saying that I love Guild Wars and have loved the game since GW1 beta. However, Guild Wars 2 leaves a lot to be desired. I’m not saying that the game itself is bad there are just some key features that have been left out that shouldn’t be left out. I’m speaking in terms of PVP because I have actually heard the PvE in Guild Wars 2 is actually really good. Yet, the game is called Guild Wars, so where exactly are these guilds at war? And what are these guilds as well as players really fighting for?

In GW1 there were four types of structured PvP Heroes Ascent, Team Arenas/Random Arenas, GvG, and alliance battles Each type of PvP gave you a different type of rank. Heroes Ascent gave you PvP rank, GvG gave your guild rank as well as you GvG rank, Team Areans/Random Arenas gave you Gladiator rank ect…. So your rank in each category would depend upon your skill/time spent playing in each category.

In contrast, GW2 has 2 types of structured PvP, 5v5 tournament PvP, and WvW, which is similar to the alliance battle type of PvP for GW1. 5v5 PvP tournament play is the only highly competitive type of structured PvP in GW2. Meaning that it is the only type of PvP that can give GW2 a shot in the world of E-Sports. However, this type of PvP as I said in the beginning of this post leaves a lot to be desired.

5v5 tournament PvP should give you a rank separate from the glory system rank because right now there is nothing separating ranking from that side of structured PvP to the WvW side or PvP or the hideous hotjoin PvP. Not only that, but guilds should be able to build ranking by winning matches in 5v5 tournament play as well. This game should not be called Guild Wars if there is no ranking system separating the guilds!!!!

Every major game that has made it to E-Sports has some sort of ranking System, Starcraft, LoL, and Counter Strike, to name a few. Hell, even GW1 had a guild ranking system! If GW2 is suppose to be an improvement for GW1 where the hell is the ranking system!!?

I got GW2 expecting great things. I came into this game expecting to love it just as much if not more than GW1. However, so far its got my hopes down. Anet claimed that GW2 would be the most revolutionary MMORPG but as of right now has failed to deliver for me as well as many others I’ve talked to. I think we can all agree that there is nothing revolutionary about about a game that has no PvP ranking system.

Honestly Anet, right now it looks GW1 had better PvP than GW2 will ever have!! You had all these years, and over these years you continued to neglect GW1 to build GW2. I think most of us GW1 players were alright with that because we could look forward to the greatness GW2 would have. But what are we looking forward to now? GW2 isn’t what you said it would be. You let GW1 decay and rot so you could release a game with no ranking system? You left all us GW1 PvPers out in the cold in this game of GW2.

Right now GW2 5v5 PvP tournament play has nothing for players to strive for. There is nothing separating our accomplishments from others except maybe the amount of gems or tickets we have. Where is the competitiveness in this game? What are our guilds fighting for? It is not secret that this games PvP player base has dropped since its release and that should be the opposite. Right now I’m pretty sure Starcraft Broodwar, a game made in the 90’s, has a higher more active PvP playerbase than GW2, a game released just a few months ago.

Anet if you’re waiting for later to release a ranking system why? Your PvP player base as well as your hopes to be an E-Sport game are disappearing in front of your eyes. I’m saying this because I want to keep playing GW2, I do like the game, but I want something to strive for, something to separate my accomplishments from others. I don’t want to find myself switching games after all those years playing GW1. I think a lot of players feel this way.

Hey all you PvP fans mostly in particular PvP Tournament fans, I will be running a PvP stream of me playing as Mesmer for my guild Heros Ascent. We play on the Dragonbrand server and run PvP Tournament games usually 5 days a week from around 11pm to 4am central time. The days we run are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday.
