While this is being looked into, it seems I was able to finish it for my character.
All I did was this. I started the fight and let them come to me to kill me. Before I died though, I killed one of them. After that I picked to spawn back from check point.
Switched to my ranged attacks with a gun I had. When the rest of the gladiators came after me, I pretty much kited them around until they dropped.
After the last gladiator of the first wave died, this time it triggered the 2nd wave and so on. Until I finished it.
I never went back to melee. So I’m not sure if I just happened to get lucky, or if melee has something to do with it, or if dying some how make it work, but this is all I did and I was able to finish it.

So I hope this helps others until Anet can find what is causing this problem out.

A warrior in map chat just said that he completed the mission. So I guess this happens only to revenants? Can you guys confirm?

My character is a warrior and I am stuck on this mission as well, so not only happening to revenants.

Everything plays out fine until you down the first group (I"m guessing there are suppose to be waves here.) and then nothing happens. They just lay there on the ground and me stuck in the instance.
I’ve tried running around to see if that will trigger anything. So far nothing.

Mirta , you’re saying you would quit if it took that long to max lvl, or if the game was boring during that?
If you’re having fun while lvling, and it was taking months to get to max lvl, you can sit there and say honestly that you would still quit?
Keep in mind on this okay? Keep in mind that you are “HAVING” fun during the whole time while lvling.

That’s just it. You take away the grind, you take away what makes an MMO an MMO.
Shouldn’t take the grind away ever. They should learn how to mask the grind and make it fun.
Then again, I am a dying breed, and the “have it nows” won. Back in UO days it took months to finish your toon. Just to get that last .9 points to earn grandmaster in a skill was forever. Yet when we all did it, you would feel satisfaction. All along while doing these skills, having a blast playing the game.
If you can get to max lvl in only a week or two, what’s the point of even giving people the option to lvl? Why not just give us the option to go ahead and make the toon max lvl.
The best part of these games is not having to worry about this so called “End game” kitten, and having fun playing the game.
So I’m sorry Gibson, but we’re just going to have to agree to disagree.

This is kind of the problem, but you’re looking at it from the wrong side. The Dev team should have lowered the lvling WAY down in this game from what it is.
I’ll get a lot of hell for saying this, but that’s what’s wrong with pretty much all MMOs nowadays. They spend all this time making a wonderful world to play in. After that though? They allow everyone to get to max lvl within like 2 kittening weeks.
Bottom line is this. Should take hardcore players like 4 months to get to max lvl. The rest longer.

One of the main reasons I hardly play anymore. Nothing to do.

To everyone who says exotics are hard to get…… Please
They are easy. Hell you can get your weapon smith and armor smith up and make the kitten things. So yeah.
Gear grind can be a good thing if it’s done right. The problem is, no other game ever did it right. So maybe Anet will get it right.
