RSA, I did not know they had such a feature.

An authenticator would be the best bet, I support those things 100%.

First off, im not here to rant about somebody trying to gain access to my account, somebody already tryed and failed, its a new game, its gonno happen, life goes on.

Second, I beleive Anet is doing everything they can to fix everybodys problems, I know everything cannot be done right away.

But my main reasion for this post, is I would like to see a feature on my account that will automatically completely block ANYBODY from outside my country, or even better yet my province/state from logging in. I am from Canada myself, and when I get a email saying somebody from japan is trying to access my account, the server should automatically red flag and give no hope of logging in.

We should also have the check box option in our account to allow connections from outside our country for those who share or do whatever you do and then thats when we receive the email to authorize the login.

I think alot of people would feel alot more secure about there accounts if there was such a feature. Especially when purchasing item from the gem store, I know myself if that feature was in place I would not have a problem purchasing gems.

Thanks.

No my account was not suspened, the hacker did not manage to gain access to my account, I received this email from Anet,

“Authorize Login Attempt

A log-in attempt from the following location is currently awaiting your authorization.

Address: 118.6.159.220
City: Tokyo
Region: 40
Country: JP

I didnt click on the link to allow it, thats when I ran a full system scan then changed my password.

Its good to see they have some sort of security to prevent this, but the emails are just not enough, if they have your email, and your password is the same as your email account, they can authorize themselfs. I have a seperate email address I use for gaming only, along with different passwords. I suggest people do the same!

Authenticators may not be needed but they defently add a sence of security. My account was attempted to be logged in from some ip in Japan. My passwords are far from easy, I use 12 charecter passwords with random letters and number I get from password generators, passwords whitch I have to write down on a peice of paper because I find them hard to remember. And someone still managed to make a loggin attempt

Thats a shame you lost all that stuff, I was fortunate not to have anything stolen. I would like to see an option that would block everybody from even remotely gaining access to our account if they live in a different country.

Not sure if this is the right section, but today I received an email saying somebody from Japan was trying to access my account, I am from Canada so i quickley changed my password. Its good to see that feature works well.

But what I dont understand is, why doesent Anet simply make an option in your account managment that adds a option to “Block all login attempts from outside your country”. Or even better yet, block all login attempts from outside your zip/area code? Then it wouldnt matter if somebody had your password, unless they lived in the same area as yourself.
