Everyone saying “Suck it up! This is how real life works!” confuses me because I don’t pay people money so I can experience more of the things that are unpleasant about real life. I pay people money to escape for a little bit and get some relief.

Normally, I’d be like “this sucks, but it’s just a cool skin and we’re all on the same playing field,” but with the stated plans to boost legendary stats above ascended stats (which likely means two item quality tiers above exotic) they’re basically making the quality of your gear dependent on RNG.

That’s pretty awful.

I like this video, and use a modified version of this guy’s build when I’m in Orr. From my experience with my 80 guardian, it takes more work to do this kind of stuff as a mesmer, but I like it because it’s way more engaging.

The butterflies are a reference to the butterfly effect, a concept in chaos theory. We do have skills that produce random effects and a trait line named “Chaos,” after all.
