Looking for something more capable of slowing the enemy and whittling them down over time as opposed to thief style of burst and get out, then come back.

Any classes capable of killing with aoe condi and cc? Using traps on the ranger was fun, just wasn’t enough to get kills.

I want to play a class to roam WvW and random pvp for the most part. Play style I prefer is something that can kite very well and deal a lot of condition damage over time.
I have been trying ranger with traps, shortbow, and torch. But traps just aren’t spammable enough for real damage, and shortbow doesn’t always bleed.

I am on Sea of Sorrows. How do you guest to higher population servers, and how do you get to the other starting areas or lions arch? I just assumed I was stuck in my opening map until I finished it or something

What is a crowd server? Don’t you just choose a world for your account?

I haven’t been playing GW2 for long as the title indicates, but I’m having trouble getting past the first few levels of the game. At the moment my highest level character is a level 11 Charr thief. I’m not exactly sure what to do when I play GW2. So far it feels like I’m grinding out maps. I run from one map icon to the next, with a few personal quests in between. That’s my experience so far with the game. When I run into a big boss event or some skill challenges that produce a boss I cannot do them because there aren’t any other players around me.
Is there anything else you can do in the early levels?
Also I am always a level behind the hearts I am running to and my gear always feels outdated.
Just not sure how to progress through this game overall. Any tips would be nice
