Well, this is going to be my first post here
I started playing GuildWars 2 as a Guardian, which was awesome, but I wanted to run another character as well, and after trying a couple of classes I simply loved the mesmer class. So I went with that.
Throughout leveling I tried out a couple of weapons and builds, my preferences being sword, scepter, torch and staff. Right now this is the build I am running after trying to focus on Condition damage, and reading quite some posts. Seemingly also because phantasms get overwritten by clones on scepter, and our conditions not being strong enough and overwritten by other classes.
With 4x runes of the lich, and 2x runes of scavenging and mostly rabid focused jewelry and gear focused around toughness, precision and condition damage due to trait lines (toughness for added cond damage and sustainability, precision for crits and condition damage for the build focus itself). And the mirror is used to counter projectiles obviously.
Now I am reading a lot that condition damage focused builds are not all too viable anymore as mesmer at this moment, and in WvW I do notice that I am not able to counter opponents all too well. I would like to become more usable in WvW, but also in Dungeon runs, and I do not play a lot of PvP. I have been thinking of going back to a sword mainhand, but am unsure what to run next to it and if I should work on a power build and drop condition as main damage (it can be tedious at times, especially where I want to do more damage in a shorter period). I like to be ‘aggressive’ and do a lot of damage in a short amount of time, and not to play too defensive or have a supporting role only. I do enjoy some supportive capabilities though, but for my next build I want to keep damage as my main objective.
What would you recommend?
