After the last several minor and major patch restarts lately, (along with the Queen meta event being launched), I am wondering what build to run here?
First, please don’t just post a bunch of abbreviations and assume every player knows what you are talking about.
Secondly, “IF” you have a good build for Southsun Cove (achivements as well as Zerg/Karka swarms), please be kind enough to specify weapon(s)/sigils/runes/trinkets.
Third, even though I know we got hit with a nerf bat a few times over past patches, but I still love playing my Guardian. I am just getting a little tired of dying when one berserk or crazed this or that mob sneezes on me, and I fall over dead with broken armor and expensive repair bills.
Possible Guardian Build

The idea is somewhat simple. However, for the build to work the best, it does take using Chocolate Omnomberry Cream.
1st: You get +20% Boon Duration with the food.
2nd: You get another +20% Boon Duration from Virtues.
3rd: Virtue of courage pops every 30 seconds instead of 40. It also gives Aegis every time it pops as passive.
4th: When Aegis drops, you automatically get Retaliation.
5th: Retaliation lasts an additional 25% longer.
6th: Both shouts recharge 20% faster and each shout also gives (in addition to other effects) Aegis. This also gives Retaliation when they wear off.
7th: The elite recharges all virtues.
8th: Using 6 superior runes of Lyssa, you lose all conditions, and gain all Boons. You also get a random boon each time you use a heal skill.
9th: You also get retaliation when you use a heal skill.
So, at least in theory you will have 24% crit chance with using superior runes of accuracy. You will be able to almost constantly keep up either Aegis (blocks an attack) or get Retaliation (which reflects an attack back on the attacker). This, again in theory, would allow you to let PvE opponents basically kill themselves. Likewise, you should be able to keep fury up fairly often due to how the runes stack with the elite + save yourselves shout, which does the same. This giving an even higher frequent critical for damage.
Human Guardian. Currently level 20. Professions are weapon-smith and armor-smith. Planning on choosing the Vigil as my selection when I reach that point. Recently purchased the deluxe edition upgrade for Guild Wars 2. Long time Guild Wars 1 player. Level 20 Ritualist on Guild Wars 1, and currently have 30 points in the Hall of Monuments. Looking for a fun, friendly, social, more adult, mature, LGBT or gay friendly guild. I do have a mic, and also have Teamspeak 3, Vent, and Mumble all set up, so I can easily accommodate whatever chat type a guild prefers using. Interested in hopefully getting some assistance in being shown Dungeons, as well as some good suggestions and advice on world events, like dragon fights when they come up. I am also hoping to get some assistance with getting started with the process of getting both professions I have to max. Also am working my best towards my goal of eventually a Twilight greatsword, and human cultural tier three 3 armor. Also hoping to eventually get Celestial, Redemption, and Midnight Fire dyes.
I also needs a little bit of patience and understanding. I am currently disabled, due to a head injury that I suffered in August of 2008. This does give me a decent amount of time being able to adjust towards what time of day or night when most of the guild will be on and active. I will do my best to offer any help and assistance I am able to provide for other guild members. However, like I said, I need patience. Because of my accident, my hand/eye coordination isn’t always the best, so if I do take longer to successfully do things that some people might find easy. I will still give it my best. I have always liked Guild Wars, and Guild Wars 2… although starting a bit slowly, seems to be slowly but surely growing and expanding quite well.
I am openly gay, and have no problems whatsoever with discussing my accident, and what minor limitations I might have. I don’t expect hand outs or to be able to leech from people or the vault. However, any assistance and suggestions anyone is willing to offer is greatly appreciated.
My main character’s name is Reece Mastin. I currently play on Fort Aspenwood, but am open to moving to whatever world the guild plays on. I can be found in game, or contacted here by anyone with a serious offer. I don’t expect a guild with over 500 people, but a guild that does often have various guild boosts benefits would be a plus.
Is there any possible working minion master build?
Side Note: Gamer Rage Arrrrrrrrrrrrgh… wtf happened to the awesome Guild Wars 1 flesh golem skin?? The one we get now looks like a crab and a human had some sort of mutant child.
I have been playing my guardian for awhile now. I hit 80 a couple weeks ago. I notice that most posted builds on various forums are almost always 30 Honor and/or 30 Valor. I’ve been scratching my head, and trying to figure out a good 30 Virtues build. The reason? For one, I’ve been wanting to come up with something a little different than the typical cookie cutter builds. For two, I just cannot understand why people wouldn’t at least use 20, but preferably 30 on Virtues. In addition to the chosen mini buffs given on each level, i.e. like Inspired Virtue, it also increases the duration of all boons by 30% and also recharges your virtues by 30%, to me that seems almost essential, given just how long recharge rates for them can be. On top of which, when exploring, with the addition 30% boon duration matched up with 20% faster recharge on shouts, the +33% run speed buff seems to me to be a true Godsend. The problem I have having though, is that unfortunately, the major traits on the Virtues line seems to be a little lackluster compared to the others. I think if Arenanet would actually look into the idea of redoing the line of major traits on Virtues traits. They just seem to be lacking a lot compared to things like Altruistic healing. Regardless though, I am hoping and praying someone could assist me with my idea of a good working pve build with 30 points in Virtues. I’d appreciate if anyone would not only post up a build suggestion, but also include a good recommendation on both what weapon(s), armor stats, runes, sigils, etc. that might actually work with using 30 points in Virtues. I’ve also seen on a few other posts questions about both food and similar things that can also boost boon duration, like Giver’s armor. I appreciate any honest suggestions for my idea. Trust me, I have already spent the time here, Guild Wars 2 Guru forums, and more, to see repeated comments of, “Look at this build here,” or “Are you blind? Look at this YouTube video here” kind of thing. I have looked at some of them, but the problem is that the majority of them are very very outdated, and were posted up weeks or even months before the most recent in game changes were taken into account. Yet, I’ve seen many people in game being like lemmings and seem to think those outdated sites, videos, etc. are like tablets handed down by Moses, but then complain constantly in game for why those builds aren’t working. They just don’t seem able to grasp the simple concept of Guild Wars 2 being a living breathing game that changes from minor to major on a weekly basis. Any given location found for farming, any location found for power leveling, or any build that was considered “The ONLY build people play”, might have made you a walking God a few months ago, but due to game changes, that former Godlike build, simply doesn’t work anymore. Thanks again for any ideas and suggestions for what I asked. I look forward to reading any responses I get.
