Well, I simply quit every MMO after reaching the levelcap or finishing the main story line. No need for me to bother about gear and stats on level 80.

100% agreed!

The camera in GW2 is the worst I’ve ever experienced in an MMO and unfortunately it isn’t addressed by ArenaNET as much as it should be despite the fact that a good camera is the MOST essential feature of any game. But instead of getting the Camera polished, we get new PVP stuff and Halloween events (as a PvE player from Germany, I’m and very interested in both of these /irony off).

Other games do the camera kind of dynamically. If you zoom very close to your character, the camera is at face value and looks at the head. If you zoom out, it moves up and looks over the character. This way the character is positioned in the lower center of the screen and this again allows a clear view at the environment. Thinking of it, even Star Trek Online does this for my Spaceship.

To say again: a good camera is the MOST essential feature of any game. ArenaNET, please get your priorities right and finally polish the camera. Thanks!

Every other MMO I’ve played so far does it right: When you zoom in, the camera looks at the characters face. When you zoom out, it pans up and looks above the character. Because of the pan and the fact that the character is now bottom of the screen (and does not block the view) the view at the environment is much clearer.

Sadly GW2, the game for which I waited so many years, is such a big disappointment regarding the Camera. It is constantly looking at the same spot of the character. (Which spot this is, seems only to differ by the character’s height.) The character is always unnecessarily at the center of the screen and blocks the view. For example: I have a middle close zoom and just want to look straightforward at the environment. Why the heck do I then need to see my character’s feet in exchange for less clarity of view?

You can do better ArenaNet! Please, have a look how other games are doing this right and adapt GW2 to that. Thanks!
