I think a personal setting to turn OFF (or ON) the commander icon on people you don’t want it on would solve things (something similar to /ignore). This way if you don’t like a certain commander you can just suppress it on that person so you don’t see it. But others who may like the commander can continue to see it. If we resolve it that way you can keep how people get the icon the way it is.

The 2 best international servers and the best French server. This should be a interesting one with each server coming in with different strengths and weaknesses. All servers will be coming in a little stronger. This should be an epic battle. See you all in less than 10 hrs on the battlefield. Good luck to all.

Congratulations to everyone on Blacktide for reaching T1. When we last matched up in T3 I new it was only a matter of time before you guys would be in T1 with us. I’ve been looking forward to a rematch since because of your never give up never complain attitude. We have a something in common (non-international servers despise us) that makes us brothers outside of the battlefield. The mutual respect we have for each other you can’t find between any other servers. Our battle this week will be epic (I’m sure VS will play their best also). We both have time-zone weaknesses that goes against the other’s strengths. There’s going to be extreme pressure placed on both sides that we’re not use to that’s going to make this a fun match. I predict that all 3 servers will keep it close over the weekend but we will both separate ourselves from VS after that. The server that wins is going to be the one that wants it more. We think we want it more but I’m sure you do also. You guys have increased the fun factor in T1. Good luck this week and in weeks to come (I have a feeling we’ll be fighting for a long time).

If you transfer to a new server you’re going to want to leave it within 7 days? That’s hard to believe unless you’re blindly picking servers out of a hat or you have other reasons for wanting a lower wait time you’re not telling us. It should require at least a 1 month wait and have to pay after the 1st one.

A different set of maps that rotates in every other week that require different strategies would be a nice change. Having a 4 different sets for each week in a month would be even better.

We’ve been rooting for you guys to get into T1. I think the best matches we’re going to face in the future are going to be against BT. You guys gave us a good match the last time we met in T3 and we’ve both improved since and respect each other. We’re doing our best to knock one of the French servers down to T2. I think once BT reaches T1 there won’t 2 French servers in T1 for a while. It’s going to be interesting to see what happens when 2 EU juggernaut servers collide (it’s not going to be fun for the 3rd server). Nothing gets the adrenaline going more than [xaoc] suddenly hitting us on all maps in the morning. It’s going to be fun.

Genev, I have a lot of respect of Blacktide from the last match we had. I think you just got a little more of that.

Luna, I believe the Russian guilds were from Aurora Glade. I talked to the guild leader of Unit Team when they first transferred last week and I remember him mentioning that he was trying to get other Russian guilds from Aurora Glade to come over. I think they’re still trying to get their members through the Full Server status.

Joriel, Nice score. I haven’t been able to play today (I’ll be on later). Are we making a bigger push or is VS just weaker today?

Zaowii, your guild and the rest of the server is doing a great job. Overtaking VS and keeping the lead seems like a real possibility now.

We’ll just have to ignore the trolls who seem to flame every thread Desolation is involved in. Some people can’t seem to handle change. The bully never likes it when their victims fight back it seems.

Anyway, I hope this thread will also will promote the communication between people and guilds on our server. Everyone is doing a great job in this match. Let’s keep it up.

I thought I would create one just for Desolation where we could be civil and talk about our match other things maturely as a group w/o other servers being involved.

1. I would like to say that we’ve made a great effort as a server to be competitive in our T1 match. I know everyone has been putting in long hours to make it happen and should be congratulated. Win or lose all players and guilds have a lot to be proud. VS should be praised also for giving it their all and making this match close and fun for everyone.
2. We may have new guilds that joined us from the Americas. The US guild (a large one they claimed) announced they were arriving in 24 hrs in one of the BL’s when I was there. I can’t remember their name. We’ll have to see if they show up or can transfer with Full status that our server seems to have all the time (I know the Russian guilds we got are having problems getting their members on the server). The other is Fatality [FT] a Brazilian guild I believe.
3. Keep up the war effort. Let’s win this thing!

With all the complaining I don’t think people realize this has been a good close match. This isn’t even close to being a boring blowout like we had last match. Hat’s off to VS for throwing their best at us. You’re not the only ones putting in long hours. We’ve been putting in long hours and losing sleep also but it’s a been a lot of fun because of the dedication your server has to winning. I see why you guys are in T1 and deserve to be there. Desolation’s wvw guilds and players have earned high praise also for their commitment to doing well in this match and are showing everyone we can be competitive in T1.

Until more servers realize prime-time in WvWvW is every hour of the day and start adjusting their play times to account for that you will have losing servers complain about night/morning capping and not having any fun. Smart and dedicated guilds like [IRON] and [Xaoc] (BT) have realized this and have been playing longer and/or adjusting when they play during their non-work/school hours to take advantage of the other server’s weakness and gain big points for their server or limit the point gains of their opponents. It really should be called capping when your opponents are weak. All servers even BT and Desolation have weak spots in the day. [Xaoc] took advantage of ours and would have large point gains during those hours and we did the same to them and it made our match together a good one. Other servers can do it also even without Asian,NA, or oceanic presence. You just have to organize and do it if you want to be competitive and/or win instead of wasting your time complaining in the forums. In the words of an [Xaoc] player in another tread talking about this topic, if the people in your server lack the commitment and don’t adjust their non-work/school hours to take advantage of this “it’s your problem!” Why waste all of your resources in a 4-6 hour period where you get the least amount of point gain when you can make some adjustments during your non-work/school time and get more points during those hours. Everyone doesn’t have to do this just a rotating organized group that’’ll sleep early and play early before work or school. I guarantee you will surprise and disrupt the server you’re playing against and do much better. It may not be the most fun or convenient time to play but if you want to win or be competitive you’ll do it and if you don’t “it’s your problem!”. Try it in your next match. With other servers adjusting to this and the presence of non-EU players you will need to adjust or get non-EU players yourself. WvWvW has always been a 24hr/day game. I think the arrival of my guild and others have finally opened your eyes to this.

For a start sorry for some mistakes in my posts, my english isn’t so well.
I’m very upset, when i read forum this week, sometime it was rly dirty. Its especially frustrate me cause SfR is best fighters what i saw in that game. But you, guys, talk about nightcapping, cheaters and that your medium server fight aganist full. It’s not way for people wtih strong spirit like you.
I want to write some my things about that.
About [Xaoc]: Yeah, we’re huge guild. Yes, we not so well organized like you are. Yes, sometimes our members seems like zerg. But you must undestood the difference. We play 18h at day vs yours 5-6h. Hudreds members log in and log out in game durring whole day. Its rly hard to teach all those peoples play that game well. If you have small or medium guild you need repeat some new info 2-3 times and be sure that you members learn some new trick, for example. We’re must repeat every 30 min and i cant be sure that all hear new information. So many people cant learn play well so fast, but we work with it every day. If suppose that chaos play 6h a day it would be seems not like zerg, because we have a good leaders and players, but its really hard (or mb impossible) teach for command playing 1k+ members .
About [Xaoc] and night/morningcapping: Yes Chaos start massively playing at 6a.m. (MSK). We do it for server, for points, for rating, and not because we like fight with empty keeps. If it need for victory – we do it. SfR also have a lot of russian guilds, but they dont want wake up before work or styding to stop us? Its your problems! Oh, you can hear that Chaos is guild of scholars and students which play whole day. Its lie!!
Yep, at morning we start with 30-40 ppl. But 2-3 hours later we have 5, maximum 10 players per map. Now europian players could wake up and play 1 hour before work for stop our upgrades in keeps as minimum. You yet dont want? Its your problems!
About “primetime”: I never understood what that mystic “primetime”. Just lol. What are you talking about? Its 24/7 war, there are no time when all should start fight. If you want win in 24/7 war, you must do something when its uncomfortable for you. If you dont want win – just stop that posts, its seems rly stupid.

P.S. Anyway SfR id best fighters that i saw in that game. [OSC], [FD], [Rise], [Fu] and all other small and big SfR guilds – my respect for your game.

Your English may not be good but I have to say your statement to complaints about capping during non-EU prime-hours is the best I’ve seen in these forums. wvwvw is a 24/7 match and you guys are adjusting your play hours to take advantage of it. That’s smart and what everyone should do. Why put all your resources in the choke point called EU prime-time like everyone else when some of you can go around it and score a lot more points for your server (you have the least amount of gain/loss during that prime-time). That’s what [Xaoc] realized and are very smart for doing it. It may not be the most fun period of the day or the most convenient but you guys are sacrificing for your server because you are determined to do best for your server and win. Those people that complain must not want win and you’re right, it’s their problem. They could easily organize themselves and adjust their play hours during their non-work/non-school time. Maybe some of them sleeping during EU prime-time and waking up early and playing or even going to bed a little early and playing a little before work/school. This wouldn’t have to be done everyday. With organization and communication between guilds you could rotate this kind of play and have a good force to limit the gains from servers like BT and Desolation (my server) or maybe hit some of their weak points in the day like BT does to Desolation and we do to them and make huge gains in points. You’re right you have to make the effort to play at an uncomfortable time and take advantage of the 24/7 game and put pressure on your opponents if you want to win and if they don’t do it, it is their problem. With smart guilds like [Xaoc] and other servers with non-EU presence you almost have to start planning to play that way. There’s a reason the military like to attack at night or when they think their opponents are sleeping. I’ve given praise to [Xaoc] and BT in the past but I have even more respect for you guys now. We may or may not meet in the next match but when we do meet I know it’s going to be a lot of fun for both our servers. I had my best time in our last match. I stayed up very late a few times and saw [Xaoc] trickling in and eventually flooding in to all maps as our forces were depleting. You guys were scary in a good way. It was a lot of fun. I was a little skeptical when I found out we were going to EU server but the people of Desolation have really surprised me. They’ve welcomed us warmly and have given me a sense that there’s a deep kinship between us Yanks and Brits that I wasn’t aware of that’s still strong (I also think Canadians, Kiwi’s, Aussies and even South African’s will find this server to be a nice alternative to the shifting population drama filled NA servers). In addition, fighting servers from other countries make it a lot more interesting and they put up a much better fight than what you see in NA servers. There’s also great guilds like [IRON] around that you can communicate and fight with if you can play early during their prime-time or on weekends.

I’m looking forward to facing Blacktide again. They (especially [Xaoc]) gave us a great fight during NA prime-time and we have a lot of respect for their server because of their never give-up attitude. I also want to say that we didn’t join Desolation to unbalance the mid-tier server matches. Our goal has always been to help Desolation reach tier 1 so that we could balance that tier and fight against the French and their Canadian forces. Unfortunately we’re not there yet and that’s gotten some of Desolation’s opponents upset because of the results we get during our shift. I hope that after 1 more match in tier 2 we will be in tier 1 with better matches for all. In the future I hope Blacktide makes it to tier 1. I can’t wait to have epic battles between Russian/Polish, French Canadian, and American/Canadian forces during non-EU prime-time. We may or may not win but I know it’ll be a lot of fun for all of us. That’s my dream. It may not come true but we’re working hard to get there.

I transferred over from a NA server to Desolation a week ago and I have to give props to Blacktide and [XAOC]. I love the never give up mentality I’ve seen so far. You guys have given our guild the best fights we’ve seen in WvW. We think your server is very good and will rise. Good luck to you guys in your next match. I have a feeling we’ll be meeting again.
