no1? or isit impossible?
how do you guys beat the howling king? i ran with 6 different parties and the strategies we used was..
kill howling king first- failed several times but several times we got howling king to 5%
we tried kiting and use long ranged weapons- longest but in the end failed since we are so far from eachother to ress with mobs swarming us.
we tried killing scavengers first – that epicly failed since they just keep coming back.

tip1 do not party with all casters.. you will need least 1 warrior and preferable a guardian too.
tip2, do not party with anyone below 80,
tip3, use kiters to seperate the mobs from the assassins. with the dpsers atttacking the assassins.
tip4, dont ress anyone directly kill mobs to ress yourself or others.
tip5, dont do p2 and spam p1. much more faster and reliable.

ok ac was abit harder with some newbie party. but if you have a full exp group, the dungeons are actually easier. i was sceptical when the patch was released. but i actually like. although i can imagine it would be a pain for some new players…

well most dungeons are there for the exotic gears which alternatively you can craft or buy (excluding fractals). now post-update, its become even more pointless unless you are after a specific gear skin.
i like what you pro-update guys say, if we dont like it then dont play it. then i question what is the use of this debate? what is the use of Anet opening a feedback section? so if we dont like it we automatically become whiners?
anyways back to the subject. if i see a player in down-state now, being a glassy mesmer i will not ress them. plenty of times i tried to ress someone ive died myself, thankfully there were this “waypoint” that i could rely on. but now ressing is not an option for glassy players like me. why would i risk losing more man power by ressing? makes no sense.
This is a big part of the learning curve. Mesmer is an incredible team support class. If you are going into a dungeon to be glassy dps you are falling way short of the potential of the class which should equal greater chance of failure. Mesmer can = almost continual chaos armor for the entire group which =s 50% less incoming damage. And no, you do not have to be a staff user for that. That is only one tool a mesmer brings…choosing to play the class as an exclusive dps should not equate to the game changing around it, it should equate to that person only excelling at a few aspects of the game and failing at others. It is cheap and easy to swap abilities and specs in this game, if one chooses not too it is not a short coming of the game, it is a lack of understanding the potential of the class.
what are you on? chaos armor is a staff skill so you have to have a staff. and it doesnt support allies… and how can i continously spam it?
do a google search for gw2 ethereal combo field. Combo fields are an important part to Mesmer play. Learning curve my friend, learning curve. Combo fields are an important part of most classes.
thanks for the info. tried to look it up but certainly u have to have a staff?.. so this ethereal will be spammable? i liked chaos armor when i use to use a staff but i found it pointless with a glass/crit build since it only last for 5secs and cd is like 35secs. its cheap to change your traits, but not gears since they are not resellable. now harder dungeons its gna be a pain to get gears.
One mesmer to another (my first toon):
Chaos Storm (staff specific)
Chaos Armor (staff and mesmer specific)
Feedback (an amazing ability, not weapon specific)
Null Field (awesome, not weapon specific)
Time Warp (greatest ability in the game, not weapon specific)
Veil (not weapon specific)
Chaotic Revival (not weapon specific)
Medic’s Feedback (not weapon specific)most of these are glamors, so effected by the following traits to increase effect, duration, or reduce cooldown:
Confusing enchantments
Glamour Mastery
Temporal Enchanter
Dazzing Glamoursedit: I typically use GS and SW/Focus or SW/Pistol so I understand your love of power/precison/crit.
thanks buddy your a star. really helped me.
yes i love being dps caster class like ive always been in other mmos. now im gna go test this new thing ive learnt =P

If you are dead dead, it’s probably not always the best idea to res someone anyways. If they are just downed, I’ve never seen someone not go for you. Honestly, with the fact that you can lose progress through a wipe now I find that players are more willing to do daring feats to res me and others. I sure as hell do.
we can lose progress with a wipe? i didnt read anything about that.
i find it much better to go on with 4man than ressing someone unless i role a guardian or the player doesnt have any mobs aggro on him. but then again even if he/she doesnt he can ress himself too.

thanks to Vissarion for beating me to explain how to use it.
copy and pasting names also work in game if you do find someone with troublesome name.
also although Vissarion said its cross-server doesnt mean American servers can join european servers and vice versa. you can but you wont be able to enter dungeons.
Run in > Die > Come back > Run in > Die > Come back
Rinse and repeat until the boss is dead, with no need to take note of mechanics of the fight.
How is that a good mechanic exactly?
Now its
Run in>Die>Boss Reset>Run in>Die>Boss Reset…Not a great mechanic either..
Now it’s:
Run in> Die >Boss Reset >Get better at the game> Run in > Kill Boss > Profit
It’s only “not a great mechanic” if you and your team aren’t very good at the game. Sorry, that’s the simple truth.
Though I don’t mind the change that was made for the most part.
Being “good” at this game was never apart of anything that was said by anet. It was actually something that drew me to the game, I am fairly decent probably above average, but what I like about the game is that I could explore all of the game without the need to be very good.
I understand that it’s a learning process I used to be terrible at dungeons until I ran them for 2 months straight, now I’m “good” I suppose. I just feel that making the group either risk themselves to res, or to start completely over is a bit knee jerk.On the contrary, Arenanet have said in every single interview and preview event that Explorable Dungeons were intended to be the most difficult content in the game designed around players with VOIP communication. If anything, this is the first step is actually affirming what they intended to begin with.
Sure, nobody is immediately good at the game, but death-zerging certainly is not the best way to beat the learning curve. This way, you’re forced to actually adapt your playing style within your team to survive rather than play the waypoints in a cheap way to reach the end goal.
but the whole no cheap waypoint thing defeats the idea of earning tokens to get the gears.
at this point players might as well craft their own gears or buy them from trading post. for me the gameplay is already hard as it is since we have no potions or dedicated healer profession. yes we have a down state for ress but ressing someone isnt easy and could backfire instead of helping which happens alot. supportive proffession will also become less supportive since they are usually the first one to die excluding guardians.
if dungeons are only for elite then they should make the rewards only for elite.
buddy, use gw2lfg.com. spread it around, the more people using it the better.
sometimes less is more.
not noob friendly, even exp players can have a bad time in a newbish party but there are always a way around it.
like lower the damage output by mobs, more waypoints, lower armor repair cost, decrease resurrection healing time, increase players toughness/health or multiply the rewards and reintroducing potions.
with this patch we are going to see dungeons become less rewarding with the amount of deaths and time piling by ressing other players, at the same time we gonna see more players badmouthing those that die more than them which totally ruins the party system of teamwork. glass cannons definately will be discriminated the most, its also not fun when you bringing your party down with you.
if this patch is to remained unchanged it could change the dynamic of how to build your character as well. most people will role a guardian or a warrior for dungeons or go fully defensive on the build.
