I like the class because it’s the weakest but it’s not weak to the point where it can’t do anything (even tho’ most people says the contrary), if they were to make the elementalist as skilless than the other classes then A.Net would have done a great job at making a game that takes even less skill than WoW (first season arena) =(

So you’re running a tank build in WvW against mostly sub-80 melee classes who you kite around in circles? A mesmer/necro would chew you up and most decently melee classes would have the common sense to not stand in/not interrupt churning earth (no one even tried dodging it).

Besides, my staff ele can three shot most people in WvW thanks to the gear difference and green arrows can barley do damage. That’s also not to mention that running a bunker build in WvW is pretty useless on its face.

A tank build ? It’s not because I’ve got tanky traits that my gears got tanky stats, you’re just thinking like most people, “I MUST GO FULL DMG AND THEN WHINE ABOUT HOW MY CLASS IS CRAP”. If you’re having fun hiding behind your walls and spamming AoE then that’s your stuff bro’, as for me I’m not really into fighting like a sissy girl

It’s funny how people on forums always consider the others to be newb =) If you could hint me where the good players are, tell me. ‘Cause I’ve tried it on the top 3 US servers & top 3 EU servers and it’s the same stuff in there. Maybe all those so good players are just hiding behind their zerg thus why I can’t find them out there ? =/

I got 30 Arcane with Evasive Arcana, the trait that gives boon on attunement switch, 33% vigor on crit,
20 Water : 20% cantrip cd & Cleansing Wave
20 earth : 20% reduced cd on earth skills, armor of earth at 50%

A lvl 20 geared can reach way better stats than a lvl 80 just FYI (on a low hp pool class I can reach 25k+ hp while having 3.2k dmg), not all of them were 80 but if you open your eyes you will be able to recognize some lvl 80 armors. Also good thieves using dagger storm, do they really exist ? Don’t make me laugh =(

I could prolly record some sPvP tourney matches as well since the build I made is used for holding 1vs2+ at the enemy’s closest point (the problem is that sPvP is boring, they casualized the way you equip your gears so people don’t even have to mix their stats since all your stats are on your amulet and the maps get boring after playing them for months).

Elem’s are fine in their own way, I mean if you look out there it’s the only class that actually requires skills & timing to be worth something (compared to the other classes where you can headbang your keyboard and still be useful) so for that I’m thankful A.Net ‘cause otherwise I wouldn’t play the game as all the other classes barely take any skill/timing.

Don’t misunderstand me, I agree with most of you that the elem is kind of weak when you look at the amount of effort it requires to be as effective as any random player playing a fotm build on an unbalanced class but that’s why I like this class on top of that it’s the only class that has a combination of 3 “useless” elites (the fire elem used to be good until they nerfed their dmgs output and let them out there with close to no hp) which none of them works underwater (the dev who made them is a real genius).

Now if you could only fix all the traits that haven’t been working since the first BWE’s + giving us an option to cancel Ride the Lightning mid air so we don’t stay stuck for a few sec while people blast us off it would be nice.

Earth signet, mist form, lightning flash, and for your elite either pick the elem or go for tornado if you’re up against mesmer (you can break out of their moa with it and then turn back to your human form by re-hitting the spell)

+1, Earthshaker really need to be fixed as it’s the most important skill of the weapon, it’s sadden me everytime that the skill miss just because the ground is not flat (even if I’m on a tiny bit higher position it’ll miss most of the time). Same goes for Fast Hands trait which is quite useful for the warrior.
