50/50 gwamm here, never finished DOA. Never even got in a group.
Isn’t that something! Good for you.
@Nick
No use trying to argue. Anet made it perfectly clear this game is not for ex-GW1 players.Ingame I see more GWAMM, travelers, guild warriors and chosen than any other. Apparently a lot of dedicated GW1 players really like GW2.
Maybe measuring success and opinions should be done with the actual playerbase and not on forums
Maybe, or maybe most just got GW1 for the HoM skins. See, thats how speculation works.
And what better place to measure success than on a game’s official forums?
Oh and, erm, is having an opinion against the forum rules? if not…Those who got GWAMM, definitely didn’t do it for skins. You can get skins quite easily for 30/50 points in the HoM. Getting GWAMM took a whole different level of dedication. People who bought GW 1 for the skins (some of those in my guild) couldn’t have cared less about getting GWAMM.
Those who got GWAMM, like my wife and I, probably were long term Guild Wars 1 players.
Hmm, interesting.
It’s not a title you can easily miss and I don’t think its one that, if you have it, you are not going to wear. So, having said that, why do I see so few of these titles running around doing dragons, dungeons, DEs… even in LA. I’ll actively focus on this though and I urge any readers of this thread to do the same. If there really are that many GWAMMs running around Tyria we need to find their hiding spot. This could be like when people were looking for Final Rest!Seriously, though, GWAMM doesn’t mean anything. Most of the people I know that got it, bought most of it. It has no indication of player skill or dedication, whatsoever. Perfectly in line with Legendary weapons, come to think of it.
I have the GWAMM title but don’t wear it. I can put it on for you if you like if you want to guest over to my server. But I don’t wear it, because I don’t really care about it. In fact, I wear different titles on different characters based on who they are.
Most of my characters aren’t conceited enough to wear GWAMM. lol
I’m GWAMM and 50/50 in the HoM. I had 18 characters in Guild Wars 1. In fact, my second account is at 30/50. lol
I really enjoyed playing Guild Wars 1 and played it for years. I really enjoy playing Guild Wars 2 as well.
They’re very different experiences. Guild Wars 1 had years of development behind it. Guild Wars 2 is a new game. And like all new games it has some bugs, some of which I find highly frustrating. However, I like Guild Wars 2 more than I liked Guild Wars 1.
Edit: Guild Wars 1 felt more linear, where as Guild Wars 2 I have a huge amount of freedom to go off and do what I want, and explore.
There are huge improvements in things like having a marketplace, jumping, swimming, and for the most part being able to climb where I want. I wish Guild Wars 2 didn’t have invisible walls too, but it’s still far more open than Guild Wars 1.
